How do you know the specifications (carat/color/clarity) of your diamonds so well?

Good point.

I decided to get all my diamonds insured because if anything happened I couldn't afford to replace the diamonds. I would be incredibly devasted emotionally and financially.

Unfortunately I take a huge hit on the insurance premium every year but I am free to wear the diamonds anywhere in the world with the insurance.

Insurance money in hand looked again at a retail store, this time for an Emerald cut diamond. Had a GIA cert this time still didn't now much about cut quality. Unfortunately 3 days after I purchased it I had buyers remorse. The cut was too understated for my loud personality. The sales assistant offered to buy it back at 75% of its value....or trade to another stone that was way way out of my budget.

Wow, how shady. I've never heard of a reputable retailer not offering a full return policy, especially after 3 days! :cursing: That seems so wrong. I never buy from a place if I don't like their return policy.

I know about my diamond jewelry because it's an interesting hobby for me. I love sparkly things and I like to know what makes them sparkle. It's also ideal to know what you're looking at in order to know if you're getting a good price on something or not.
