How do you know a bag is high quality?

Two things I look for is leather/suede and strong hardware materials - the zipper, etc determines if it's made well.

I base a bag's quality on how it feels, and how the small details are holding up. Stitching, perfection of alignment, and how solid the bag feels when it comes to the leather or fabric used, as well as the zippers or buttons, tells me if the bag is of excellent or mediocre quality.
