I remember seeing the Hamilton for the first time. I took a picture obviously and fell in love! I went with the Black then the Artisan though. I felt like the bag was elegant and gorgeous!

- Durability and longevity. I prefer to purchase a bag that can last me a life-time (literally) and this applies to the categories below (in concept) too. T bag's material is very important to me - that the corners won't get scratched, that the color will not fade through time, and that the material is tough but looks delicate at the same time.
- Functionality - such as the number of pockets available and what it can fit depending on what I intend to use the bag for.
- Style - a design that for sure will not go out of style. That said, I do not buy trendy items, and the LV's most iconic designs are the safest bet.
- Color - black black black. Given that it's a "tradition" that people in my profession wear black, black for me is the way to go. However if I like the style enough I would purchase other classic colors in the same design for sure.

Investing in high-end designer bags is such brain work! I like to be very succinct with all items in my closet. It has been almost 2 years for me going through trails and errors - and until now I have somewhat concisely downsized my collection to my satisfaction, at least at the very moment.

Quality - It needs to hold up well including shape, color staying true, metals, stitching, I shouldn't have to baby it for it to look nice in the long run.

Designer - There are certain designers I will not buy if you paid me and this also goes for bags that are not made in France or Italy.

Style - It has to fit my personality, I don't buy bags just because they're popular/trendy at the moment.

It really doesn't take anything for me to get inspired, if I come across a nice bag whether its in person, magazine, or the internet, if it speaks to me then I'll buy it providing it meets the criteria above.

They just automatically appear in my mind & I obsess about them till I get them lol

Funny when obsessing about 1 bag, I don't think about another bag till I get the one I obsessed about. Then a new bag obsession will just appear in my mind without me even thinking about a new bag!
Omg, this also happens to me! In 2014 I have got to find a cure for my bag obsession other than actually buying the bag!

I love furla bag. It looks like plastic. Yah candy bag! Because it will not be broken and wet because of rains, sun, flood or windy. Hahahaha so my things inside bag are safe. And easy to take care this candy bag. I love leather bags too, but hard to take care. I prefer cute bag that is easy to use and to take care and has good functions.

I am an extremely bad decision maker and I therefore dwell on things far too long, so when it comes to bags I either impulse buy or think about it for a really looong time. I'll be browsing TPF or Selfridges for new and affordable arrivals or looking at threads of popular bags, then I start stalking anything and everything to do with that bag. I'll google it at least 50 times a day, read reviews, look at images etc.. and then I'll try it on multiple times at my local department store. It has taken me 1 year to decide to purchase an MBMJ Francesca Handbag, whereas I impulse bought my Michael Kors Selma Satchel after seeing it on TPF. I also have a bag list - which comprises of the kinds of bags I need for different things -

: Errands Bag - MBMJ Percy
Personal Purse - ?!
University Bag - MBMJ Francesca, MK Jet Set Tote
Travel Bag - RM MAC Clutch
Going out Bag - ?!

So once I have completed that list, I'll start purchasing second reserves for the bags on that list.

I'm always initially drawn to colour. I'm the total opposite of most people, if I'm going to spend a lot on a bag, I want it in a fabulous colour! So no boring neutrals for me! :p I've even tried shopping for a classic, neutral bag. I bought a beautiful lambskin one, carried it for a few weeks, got bored and passed along to a friend in law school who will get far more use out of it.

As I got more into bags, I also find I don't like the not-quite-knock-offs that some designers do. I walked into Michael Kors recently, and there were a few that were clearly "inspired" by other designers. I'm not talking about a basic tote style (how many ways can you do a great basic tote?!), but when you're clearly trying to be a Hermes bag with your own logo... That turns me off.

Lastly, customer service is a huge deal to me. I have walked into stores with the intention of buying a bag, and walked out again when they were rude, snotty, too busy to help me or made me feel inferior. This works the other way, too. Consistently great customer service will always get me back into a store.

Agreed on the customer service and I know how you feel about color.

I have a soft spot for neon pink and the first major purchase I made was said color, followed by another bag that's in line with 2014's orchid trend and will be getting pulled out of my closet soon. I have lavender, teal, and other pinks and only recently acquired an every day black bag. Most of my small accessories are still bright though.

Good leather, structured, not a high maintenance color and something that I don't already have in another color. I like bags because of leather and not the brand so I think i'm done with canvas for good

I feel a bag sometimes comes looking for me instead of me looking for a bag.. LOL

I usually don't look for a bag... but I do look for the new collections & if it is a
must have I will consider it..

I remember I saw a bag I really liked but it was quite pricey but I waited for it to
go on sale & was lucky enough to get it at a second markdown & in a color I
own nothing in...
