How do I find an SA?

Nice dog .
Looks tall , must be a male ?

also keep in mind that this is the busiest time of the year for them, and they do hire temp SAs to help with the volume during the holidays, so this may not be the best time to go if you want a more relaxed experience. why don't you try going again after the holidays and see how it turns out?

a good friend of mine told me that when she is new to a store, she prefers to browse and observe all the different SAs and see how they interact with their clients... hopefully this can give you some idea of who you would connect with. then after that SA is done with their client, approach him/her and ask if they can help you. do not forget to ask for their business card at the end before you leave, this way you can stay in touch and they will feel like you will possibly be a repeat lifelong customer.

also, if you are paying and they do not ask your information and you want to start making a profile, i would say "do you mind putting me in your system? i want to start shopping with H more regularly and want to build a profile." that way they can start seeing everything you have purchased which will help towards the offer of a bag in the future.

best of luck!! do not give up on your H dreams!! the first SA i approached at my home store years ago was cold and we did not connect... when i went back a second time, i approached a different SA who i connected with immediately. as they say, the rest is history LOL! :P

Very nice .
Used to have sbt when I was back in England and allways like ebt due to their family connection but never actually owned one , Allthough my second sbt was bred to “olde worlde” specs and had no hieght restriction so was ebt like apart from the head .
( one of my sisters had ebt along with sbt and my mother fostered one for a while until it found a new home )
Absolutely fantastic dogs !!!

A lot of great advice already stated. Everyone has different personalities and it may take a few tries to find a sales associate with whom you click. Once you do, though, it sure is a slippery slope! I hope your next experience is better.

I’ve seen your reveals and I’m actually surprised that you haven’t required an IV after some of your visits to Hermès.
My job pays for my IV. My coworkers started asking me why I still work. I told them I need the fund to fuel my addictions.
If they’re REALLY good , that will be one of many Hermès wallets they’re taking all the money out of .
And When you have all the styles , sizes , and colours , you’ll make them all redundant by using Apple-pay on your Hermès I-watch
:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
Somehow, I am more adverse to changing wallets. I only have a few. It is usually the same instance that goes to the bleeding sessions. I made the mistake of using a different one last time. My SA tried to sell me two Croc wallets (she did not stop at one). Seriously, she did! I summoned every single drop of my self control and only took home one. The one that I left behind was Bleu Electrique.

@Ollie1123 , take your time to find a good SA whom you like. It is a very slippery slope to the Ban Island. So you deserve someone you love working with.

As someone who worked expensive retail - if a sales associate passes you off to someone else when you're ready to pay:

a) they are new and not yet fully trained to use the tills/do not have a sign-in number.

b) managers delegated tasks and someone (usually senior sales/supervisor) has been assigned to be cashier because they're quicker/make less mistakes.

Please don't see this as associates being rude. I used to hate having to pass my customers off to "cashiers" (we only did the cashier thing over BF/Xmas) because one moment we're having a great conversation, then the next Sally over there on the radio is barking at me to pass you onto Bobby at the till so I can go serve others... Not great but had to be done during busy periods.

This is exactly what happened to me!

you should absolutely persist :)
my personal experience echoes what others have said. the first time I went into the store, I was ignored. A regular client pointed this out to her SA with whom she was with, and he replied, "let him wait, he doesn't look like he can afford it anyway".

needless to say I was shocked and insulted and I walked out of the store embarrassed. I should have stood up for myself, but I was younger back then and was likely intimidated by the store environment. regardless, 6months passed and I desperately wanted a clutch I had seen in a magazine - this time I walked into the (same) store, looked a random SA in the eye, asked for assistance and bought the bag. he was lovely and the experience was fuss free.

turns out, this 2nd SA I interacted with was the sales supervisor (which I discovered after asking for his name card before leaving). Over the three years that followed, we formed a close bond. It was wonderful and exactly the type of H relationship I had read about in the past. When he left the company, he transferred my profile to the store manager and I've slipped even deeper down the orange slope....

In short: Don't give up!
PS: The 1st snooty SA still works at that store; he tries to get my attention now whenever I come in (); which I reciprocate with blatant ignorance.

Too many only want the person who looks like a big spender to walk through the door. The best SAs realize the relationship is reciprocal and the loyal big spender often starts smaller. I'm glad after that abysmal experience you found one of the good ones.

Sounds a bit like me .
I look like I can’t afford the bus fare home :biggrin::biggrin:
Luxury store employees know perfectly well that looks mean nothing though. I have made some of my biggest sales to people who looked poor as dirt... Meanwhile, people who walk in with the full “basic fashion victim” attire (a combination of Chanel earrings, Cartier Love ring, Hermès belt, D&G t-shirt, Speedy bag, and Gucci Ace sneakers) all but guarantee the sale of a key ring at best.

I am either the the tired , frustrated guy on my own .
frantically doing last minute buying for birthday or Christmas that I’ve forgotten about , so have come straight from work full of dust etc.

Or the moany , sulky guy with the tall , happy girl .
that has been dragged around the mall uninterested for far too long , and had planned to either have curry and beer or fix one of his cars so is wearing attire suitable for the task .:biggrin::biggrin:

I’m lucky , but yet unlucky ...

I’m unlucky because Both my local Hermès places are “shopping tourist” / “window shopping in-store” traps .
Beverley Hills boutique , and south coast plaza .
I can think of nothing worse .
Possibly only ikea , jail , or the dmv office is on a par with them for places I’d least like to be .
I hate the brands stores , I hate the amount of people , I hate that the sales people allways seem understaffed , I hate waiting .

I’m lucky that rodeo drive is on real streets !! , so I can wait outside the stores and smoke cigarettes etc .
And in south coast plaza mall the Hermès and channel store are nieghbours , and in between is an exit where I wait outside and smoke cigarettes etc .

Not perfect , but makes it a little easier

*wishes I could start a thread of "What does my outfit say about me to an SA?" with your commentary, but wonders how long it'd take before it gets closed*
