how big is .1 ct in real?

A tiny chip; barely visible. Like a marker in your watch at each of the hours. This picture looks bigger than that. It's really hard to tell. Some of the Tiffany jewelry for instance looks quite large on their website and in real life, it's very very tiny. It probably is about the size of the little chips in the diamonds by the yard bracelets by Tiffany. I think it's probably very dainty.

.1 is a very, very small diamond. It's the size of accent diamonds on rings. I don't know how these photographers make diamonds look so much bigger than they are (especially the photographers for Tiffany), but I'm starting to suspect that they're not even photographing the piece that's being sold - rather photographing the same piece but with a diamond 2-3 times the actual size.

to me,it seems similar to the chopard happy diamond line, whit the tiny diamond set in a way bigger setting;if you zoom the pic,you can easily see it

If it's ideally cut, a .10 ct diamond is 3 mm in diameter. On a standard ruler, look at the metric side. Each line of the smallest increment is 1 mm, so it would be 3 of those. If you like small diamonds, & it has a nice cut, the light play on a pendant can be interesting.

i guess how small it is depends on the way it is cut and also the shape. There are some diamonds that are the same in ct weight and shape but yet some looks bigger than others because of the way it is cut...KWIM?

I have a Tiffany Diamonds by the Yard necklace with a similar tiny diamond. It was a gift, so I'm not sure I would have bought it myself, but its subtle but still suprisingly noticable. If you are near Tiffany perhaps you could look at what they have to get an idea of the size.

The description talks about the little signature hidden ruby that Roberto Coin has on his pieces and it says that ruby is .3 carat. I have some RC pieces and that ruby is really tiny ... so at .1 carat the diamond must be microscopic!

I'd skip the "Roberto Coin" name and go for something less branded but still good value.

You can have this made at your local jeweler likely for the same price with a bigger stone.

If you are willing to have a different setting both Blue Nile and OVerstock.com offer bigger stones .30 pt, .25 pt for around the same price or less.

But I think the idea is that its supposed to be small and dainty. If its a high quality diamond it will sparkle nicely. A larger stone like that would just take the charm away, or at least change the look entirely. Roberto Coin may be overpriced in this necklace but considering Tiffany's version of the same size necklace is twice the price, maybe it isnt that bad a deal.
