I finally got around to snapping my most recent bag purchase - Miss Halzan 31 in Barena Faubourg.

I previously had a Halzan 31 in Blue Hydra and adored the bag but found the color too limiting with my wardrobe. I knew when I rehomed Miss Hydra that I would one day get another, and fell in love with the look of the earlier smooth Barenia/Potiron version that several TPFers have posted. Last year I saw a woman in a museum in a very chic summer outfit carrying a gorgeous gold one - I actually did a little light stalking to see the bag closer!

So when this fell into my hands I snapped her up - the best of all worlds - fabulous color and amazing (and amazing smelling) BF leather! This will be my go-to medium-sized bag once I regularly carry bags again, and I can’t wait to see how the patina develops. Also I had forgotten what a great travel bag it is, being especially easy to access when tucked inside of a larger carryon.

I love these bags! So versatile! I have the same bag but in smooth barenia.

For those of you with mini Halzan, can it be carried on the arm, or are the handles too small? I'm considering buying the mini, as I love the 31 that I have already, but I like the flexibility of holding it on my arm to free up my hands, so I'm worried that the mini won't allow me to do that. I'm not sure how much shorter the handles are, compared to the 31. Thanks in advance.

I carry it over my arm all the time.

I have two. One in black, one in rose sukara, by far two of my most used bags. Both are "go tos" for traveling. I recently sent the black one back to Hermes because it had gotten to be a little too well loved, but it came back just like new.

Hi everyone, I’m new to Hermes. I have some calvi and bastia for years and love them but haven’t settled on any H bag yet. I’m considering Lindy and Halzan and really want to get new from the store. However, with this situation I rather not go anywhere. Meanwhile, I have my eyes set on Halzan Clemence in Sauge popped in secondary market. I really like the shade. My question is, is this color prone to color transfer? If it happens, is it easy to clean with leather cleaner and do you condition your bag from time to time with leather lotion? Last question is, since it’s preloved, can I get it checked with Entrupy? Is it good enough to authenticate Hermes bags? Thank you so much for your input.

Has anyone used a base shaper for your Halzan? If so, what kind? I'm thinking of purchasing an acrylic one from Etsy. My Halzan in clemence is starting to sag a bit.

Thanks for the rec. I use an insert from Maitai, but I find that the bag still sags a bit. I suspect that I'm just overloading it with too many heavy items. I will try a base shaper and an insert. That should do the trick.
