Miffy&Co, are you planning to buy this from Hermes HK? My understanding is that it is difficult to get a birkin in HK unless you are established long term client. I might be wrong but other fellow HK tpfer can chime in on this.

As for buying from resellers (there are many in HK), my only suggestion is that you should be able to authenticate yourself and as always, proceed with caution! If you wish, you can utilize the "Please Authenticate This" thread and provide the necessary pictures as listed in Post #1.

That's a very thoughtful gesture on your part to buy your mom a birkin! I am sure she will be thrilled! I wish you the best of luck in finding that perfect present for her!

Miffy, if you wish to buy one RIGHT NOW from a H boutique. My suggestion is to fly to Japan and buy from Hermes. It is more expensive but if you consider the increase of birkin over 3 years, it is not so unreasonable. For pricing in Japan, you can look at Pricing Thread in Shopping Forum.

There is a thread on Newbie's Guide to Buying Hermes. Please do a search for it. Perhaps you can take your time to familiarize yourself with it as it answers a lot of questions you may have!
