I had the same experience, and he promised to personally see through that my request would be applicable. And the "personal" letter that came with my order - which are so often not personable anymore, not even on Etsy, had been signed by hand. Even the small things about this company (dear I say it feels totally wrong calling them a company) are done impeccably!

I happy to have somewhere to share my appreciation for what, unfortunately, seems to have become a niche in society. I'm thrilled for you that you are considering a purchase!

I'm home sick, thus no mod shots coming out of today, but I will attach a few quick photos of my bag. I love it so much, I've named it Chocolate Labrador! It's as trusty as a dog, carry my keys, and takes me out on walks!

The interior is unlined, the bottom is enforced with an extra layer of leather (same is the flap). It has an unlined pocket, roughly the size of three iPhone 6 lying next to each other. I can't find anything to measure with, but I used my phone (15cmx9) and the strap is about 130cm on the fifth notch. I'm 172cm and it's level with my bum when I don't wear it across the body. Thus far I haven't felt comfortable using it as a crossbody bag.

So happy to see these posts about Frank Clegg. I came upon his site a month ago by accident. I fell in love with his bags. Had to have one. I ordered the Tuscany Satchel in cognac and it was mailed yesterday. I'm so excited but have been a little nervous as I haven't actually seen one or known anyone with one. Your reviews have made me even more excited to get it. 5 more days to wait!!! The buying experience was wonderful. I was dealing with one of the sons, Ian and he has been wonderful.

Gorgeous bag! Would you say it is a lightweight bag? Currently on a hunt for lightweight leather bags that could fit *all* my daily necessities (and the ever growing amount of non-necessities haha).

That's great! I was debating getting one in Cognac; I would love to see photos if you don't mind posting some after it arrives. The color looks so rich, and I think it will age beautifully.

I hope you love your bag as much as I do.

Thank you. Yes for sure I will post pictures. I am so excited about this bag. A colleague just bought a bays water. First time I saw one in real life. It was stunning but out of my price range. I then went looking for a similar bag and somehow came across the Tuscany satchel and it blew me away. So much more beautiful in the pictures than the Mulberry and half the price. The leather looks so much thicker and more supple. I also like the idea of made in the USA by a small business. I just need to contain my enthusiasm for a few days!!!

Oh and I forgot. Because of this thread I learned about Laurel Dasso on Etsy. I ordered a pouch from her in cognac leather to match my bag. She was absolutely lovely. Pleasure to order from her. Thank you all for such great tips!!!

I have this bag in black. It's made of full-grain leather, so it's not the lightest bag I own, but it's also not very large. If you go back a page, you can see what I carry in mine. I think the dimensions are listed on Frank Clegg's website. Good luck with your search!

I received my Tuscany satchel on Friday. Hardly looked at it until this morning as I have been so sick. Now that I'm better I am amazed at its beauty. It is a heavy bag so not for the faint at heart but that is because the leather is sooo thick. It is a large bag which I like. I protected it with Apple Care as Ian Clegg recommended. I am so glad I bought this. The leather and workmanship is just so gorgeous. I don't believe any big name designer makes any purse so nice. I do think this bag is better made and with better leather than the Bayswater which is very similar and twice the cost. I like also that it is very unusual. This is a statement piece for sure.
