Hello Silky Friends!
I am giddy-up with excitement over my Livre d’Esope in cw 4.
These sweet animals make me smile!
I think this little fox is my favorite ( for today). I’m sure the purple elephant, lemon yellow camel and his monkey friend will be featured next. View attachment 6151292View attachment 6151293
A beautiful choice, dear Ladybaga. The colors are great on you. Congratulations! ❤️

I agree that @Redbirdhermes' cw is so bright and fun but I purchased the one that @Agrume modeled last month perhaps? and the one that @Jereni showed today. This 01-- the dots are yellow, the border is orange and the animals are not as fanciful in color but no less whimsical! This works really really well with my closet :winkiss:

It’s a beauty and will be a versatile addition to your wardrobe.

I know that beautiful mod shots have been posted of this Ex Libris by my twins @lumiloo and @Croisette7, but mine had its debut outing this weekend and I am so in love with how beautiful the colors are that I can't resist posting. It is a perfect match with my leather jacket and looks fabulous with tweed slacks, too. Can't wait to try it with other colors/combos...Thank you for letting me share!

This is wonderfully tonal and serene - love it!!! You are right, it’s so perfect with that leather jacket, it’s silly.

Showing one from the men's side today. I picked this up on the weekend when we were (technically) birthday shopping for my DH. But if you show me a washed silk, with tie dye and the color etoupe... well, I am helpless in the face of all that!

Congrats!!! Beautiful on you and the colors are the epitome of spring. A very happy shawl, made even better by your gorgeous smile!

Thank you @Ladybaga @Redbirdhermes @citykitty24 @EtsyBoss @LKBNOLA @HenrietteBN @CoastalCouture @Maedi

for the feedback on my try-ons from yesterday!

and please find a different colorway of Livre d'Esope. I'm not loving all the gray-tans, or whatever that blah background color is, for you.

Yeah looking again at the photo, I completely see what you mean - against the tan sweater I’m wearing, the background color of the scarf overly blends with it / is washed out, and the colors in the photo make the background look all wrong for my skin tone. That latter aspect however might be exacerbated by the terrible boutique lighting tho.

I'm holding out for a Livre d'Esope in dark blue but have been tempted by the one with sage green and the colorful / pink one RedBirdH has. Hopefully something will click for you with that design because it is so, so sweet. It needs to be the right color combo though with the prices for the CSGMs these days, imo.

I’m also very tempted to wait on Livre until I can try the dark blue one that you reference. I doubt there’d be any skin tone clashing happening there, but also I have 3 shawls with a decent amount of blue - GTN, Selle Imaginaire, and now Orto, so I sort of feel like that would be the wrong thing to add to the collection.

I could have tried on the pretty spring colorway that I think LadyBaga just got but I decided not to try it on and I’m kicking myself.

Hi, @Jereni! I bought this cw of Le Livre d'Esope today. I personally love it but I understand the attraction of the pastel cws as well. I have seen both the cw04 (as my DD has it) and this and I believe I could make a case for either. In any case, I went for 01 and am delighted. You have not shown some of the lovely pastel blue or the fun yellow dots and perhaps this very "quiet" corner is not to everyone's taste. I also have the Please Hold the Line in this exact cw (I posted photos here a while back) and I adore it. As @Redbirdhermes said, it is understated, but in the way of a finesse. I think the cw really honors the design and of course, I love the marron glacé background. It looks lovely on you!!! All three do actually, but the consensus seems to be against the Esope for you.

I can see what you mean about the finesse elements of that cw of Please Hold the Line!!! I do remember you sharing it when you bought it and it’s very lovely on you. I was struck by the colorway in person but it wasn’t quite love. It could be that my collection is still developing and I’m still overly obsessed with brighter colors.

I haven’t fully given up on that Livre - I think folks make good points about it, but it’s possible the boutique lighting is making it look worse than it is. In theory I want to try it with a different color top… just need to decide if I drag myself into the boutique again just to do that.

Here are some mod shots to add to our "photo library" of the Esope colorways! It is very hard to choose among these because each has its joys and elements of H magic. I think for me, cw 01 is so much "my" colors and it pairs with so much across three seasons for me that I ultimately went with this. CW 04 was a strong contender, too. I am now waiting for cw 05 because I love the design and I know I will want the dark blue option as well. Hopefully, my hunch is borne out! Meantime, here is 01 paired with a sage green shirt jacket and a denim shirt. I think it will also pair beautifully with my army green Anine Bing jacket and my pale blue Herno puffer. In spring and summer I wear a lot of pale blue, white linen, black and denim all of which work beautifully with this shawl. I hope these photos help anyone deciding. You cannot go wrong with the options Hermès provided for us with this heartwarming and cheerful design! In any case, I hope these photos help anyone's decision-making. In my opinion, this is one to try on as it can surprise you.

You are such a thoughtful collector and you know your colors so well, I always look forward to seeing where you end up with your choices @Jereni. It is hard when so many look so wonderful on you!

Tried a few others from this season today.

Please Hold the Line, in cw 10. This went hilariously well with what I was wearing, but the colors didn’t pop enough for me.

Then also Livre d’Esope… I do like this a lot. I might need to try it on with another outfit tho.
View attachment 6151107

And this cw of Bottes Story. I think I am possibly the most tempted by this, but again kind of want to confirm with a different outfit.
View attachment 6151108

Which do y’all think works best for me? Thanks for any recs!
So fun to see some new ins from the boutique 😍

I am a bit unsure about all 3 tbh…

I love the design of Please hold the line, and the cw is lovely, but maybe a bit too soft for you? That’s not to say a softer and more neutral cw cannot be very much loved. Eg my orange La Vallée de Cristal was a surprise for me, it is so easy to wear ( much more than the brighter green I also own) and it really made me appreciate and want more of these less bright and easy to wear silks.. I like the Please hold the line on you a lot, but wonder if something a tad brighter would not even be better… but regardless this is my favourite of the three on you.

The Livre is pretty but maybe a tad soft as well. I am not overly fond of Natural ( oatmeal) based backgrounds… But @LKBNOLA ’s modshots are very pretty so maybe give it another go? I do believe the navy Livre will be a hit on you, but as you said, you already have a few blues shawls…

I love the colours of Bottes Story on you the most. You clearly suit these type of cw. However the design reminds me of some other, even better, designs you already own… so if it makes you happy why not but not a necessity imo.

Good luck deciding! I have not chosen anything yet from this season, I still struggle with the cws…

Thank you, redheaddem! I was inspired and enabled by so many here! It is a fun shawl and very different from any of my others. I gotta be extra careful not to spill anything on it! Note to self: no coffee drinking while wearing this shawl!

Jereni, you should definitely go back and try on that one again. (01) I do think that lighting makes all the difference and the colors are very pretty. If you have a chance, try on other colorways, too. You always look beautiful in everything you model here, but if your heart isn't fluttering with excitement, then pass on it. We all have opinions, but yours is the one that matters most. I agree with everyone about making sure you love the shawl before purchasing, due to the astronomical price increase that we have seen this semester. My choices, from this point on, have to be 100 percent love to justify the price.
