I think it looks great on you, especially belted and paired with your pink belt that contrasts nicely with the grey, black and white portion as well as bring out the pink in the florals. But I agree at the current price point, the keepers should be those that you clearly love and will regret if you choose to return.

IMHO, the dissymmetry of colors which looks so beautiful on you in the photo with the belt doesn't work well with the other knots because the expanse of grey and white is too huge. I think that a more colourful colorway would look great with your lovely hair color. The issue isn't your size, @ajaxbreaker, it is the layout/arrangement of the colors on the scarf.

This design is stunning but as you have pointed out with others, it does not tie easily. Which is such a shame. Stunning design is often better on a wall than worn. Its always the ones you never expect that are the easiest to wear. Best of luck with your tough decision. :flowers:

I have a feeling this one is going to be problematic. It’s so beautiful when most of the design is visible/flat, but that makes it a challenge to wear.…

I think this scarf does love you back LOL

Have you tried with a jacket? Do you have a dark grey or black?

I like the bias fold knots and it looks good belted if that's a style you wear. With the pale sweater, it blends in. I would try navy, anthracite, perhaps one of the reds in the scarf. It's a gorgeous design, I like the format for you but perhaps, a different color would be better.

I actually like it a lot with your hair color and complexion @ajaxbreaker because your golden blonde draws out the wonderful warm, bright flower bits. I like it with your gray sweater too but it does look a little flat. With CSGMs I want them to sparkle! If I had this one.. which is definitely one I had on my list and may yet still if after the one I ordered finally arrives and I don't like the colorway.. I would try it with navy and sky blue, tied to make those colors forefront in a loose cowl style. Might even try it with red / hot pink. If that didn't work, I'd probably send it on its way because like you said this format is too $$$ to not be in love with.

This blue…. :faint: . This looks amazing! It wasn’t even on my radar but you all are making it tough to resist.

double face looks amazing. Love it on you …and for me ;) !!You found the curry. Exciting. I REALLY Like how the border on this cw is not so loud as the others. It’s tamer and probably more useful for finding outfits with it. I see so many great colors to chose from on the vest Too.

I am struggling with this one. But for personal reasons of my own tastes. It’s off balance to me. And on the large shawl it’s my lack of love for off balance is amplified. I LOVE the tight tie around the neck. So these colors in the black/gray are amazing here. This is where I sometimes say …I might wait for the 90 with prayers. I also love the belted look! the belt is perfection with it. I also like other scarfies advice on different top colors to make the scarf shine

Felt similarly

Thank you everyone for your inputs! I've now tried the shawl with different colored tops, posting some more modshots. I'm still not convinced :( It's beautiful but I might end up just taking some nice photos of the design that I can look at anytime I want, and send it back. If only they had issued this gorgeous CW in a smaller format, I would have framed it. But it just doesn't tie well enough to keep it. Just too much white overall. You have to fiddle a lot to get the colorful flowers to show, and that's just not something I want to deal with. The belted look is not bad but I don't want that to be the only way in which I can wear a shawl. \ Somebody asked why i don't try the other CWs, it's because I didn't like any of them - either too many pastels, or garish pink or orange contrast hems that I didn't like.

You’ve matched the shawl up with some lovely tops but I’d agree that there is still a lot of white in the scarf. It doesn’t sound like it’s love and with these shawls it shouldn’t be such hard work!

I’m still not seeing a colourway that I like for myself either. Thank you for sharing the photos, really helpful as I’ve been having the same dilemma.

I love it with the red jumper in pic.2 and the yellow belt in pic.4 but I agree with you that it is much too expensive to not be versatile and easy to wear. Black is beautiful with your hair color and your complexion, by the way

It looks great with red. I can also see it as a neutral shawl due to the mostly b/w, something you would just throw on without overthinking.
