Presenting my newest acquisition, Tulipomania in yellow... I adore yellow and I really freaking adore tulips, and yet I am very torn as to keeping it. Seems like it might be difficult to match it with different colors? Plus, while I love the bright red tulips, I don't like that some of the prominent corner tulips are a blah greige... Here are some modshots:

The other big question, is it too similar to my BdG Shadow and my Plumes en Fete to warrant keeping it? Would love some honest opinions on this. Here are the three scarves with the same knot. (I am also open to rehoming one of the other scarves and keeping this, if it comes to that...)

I personally think the colors on the top and bottom scarf are more flattering to your complexion

The middle scarf gray tones seem to wash out your skin tone, whereas the other two seem to light it up.

JMO though

It is a beautiful scarf - I got the same CW and I also have a dilemma as far as what to do with it. I think it would be the scarf to wear it once with a black dress (as you rightfully paired with - black) but then I think it would have limited use... It would look geat with black and white - maybe a great accent to spice all-black slick outfit. But I am not sure if it is worth that $$ spend for me - that is my dilemma... I personally like it more with loose-er knots (long)- IMHO the knots that create a thick collar around your neck aren't very flattering, and this scarf design has to be spread out a bit more to shine.

I am biased because I also love yellow and tulips and I have this scarf. I hesitated as well but could not part with it. The yellow is very bright and I only like the corners with the red flowers but I still love it on white, black, jeans, and even peach (the colour matches some flowers). I do think it is very similar to the 2nd scarf you showed. I personally prefer the first (Tulpomanie) and the third scarf, and think the second one could be re homed if you decide to keep Tulpomanie. Before deciding, you could also try a different cw?

Thank you all for your comments and helpful insights! I've decided I'm going to keep the beautiful Tulipomanie and rehome the yellow Plumes en Fete to avoid a surfeit of 90s in my closet. First of all, I am obsessed with tulips and don't care at all about feathers, so already the subject matter is more appealing. Second, @880 's diagnosis is correct I think - while the yellow background on the Plumes is beautiful, the rest of the scarf is just pastel upon pastel. Maybe that explains why I have not worn it nearly as often as I thought I would, because I simply don't do pastels. I always feel they wash me out. Don't have that problem with Tulipomanie

@mktlim -- I am not at home, so reposting the mod shots I took when I got it, but I would not say these are pastel, exactly. I have noticed that all the cws shade from more dramatic to softer tones. The most pastel tulips on this cw can be seen in the diagonal fold.

This is very beautiful @Marie-the-Mary. I too love the colors in this cw-- that sage green is beautiful. The brights are bright and the hem is very eye-catching. I think I am going to have to order some different cws online so I can try on at home and make direct comparisons with Leila au Bloc and Faubourg Tropical... I hope you keep it, but may I ask which other cw you are considering?

Ah, thank you @Ladybaga!

Thank you @supermommy101 -- so incredibly helpful. I don't have a blue floral-- my Leila au Bloc is the more neutral. This one is a beauty! I think what you did is so smart to try on as many as possible... I am always in danger of succumbing to blue...
Do you feel the size of the tulips is too large to appreciate the design?

Hi, @Winter4! I feel the tulips do disappear into the shorter ties, with the exception of a cowboy fold (with the knot underneath) which highlights the beautiful corners. The longer bias fold ties also allow the florals to be seen. It is not unlike Lanternes, Ballons & Cockards in this regard-- I was surprised by the larger scale when I saw it. Many people have preferred the scale on that design in the gavroche format. That may be true of Tulipomanie as well, but I personally do not find it difficult to highlight what I would like to, though the scale is large. Someone made a comment recently about it perhaps overwhelming the face. It is a dramatic design anyway, so I will be wearing it in longer ties to showcase the flowers... Of course this is just me-- there was no way I could pass it up!

Greetings all and a joyful Nowruz to those who celebrate. I’ve been following all the activities without a post for several weeks, prepping for my second knee replacement surgery. I had one last theater trip planned before being grounded for several weeks. And I made it to Madison Ave store as I was determined to treat myself to a few “get moving” incentives. Surgery is tomorrow at 8:30 and I’ll be stashing this Brides et Destin giant triangle in my bag to wear on Wednesday when I come home. It’s just the right size and weight to wrap when I start taking neighborhood walks again!

I’m 3 1/2 years out from my second total knee replacement and life is so good. Best of luck with the surgery and the months of PT that follow. What a beautiful scarf to come with you. I’ve been eyeing this Daiske Nomura beauty. Wonderful choice to accompany you to the hospital and through the rehab.

@de vent - I truly love that giant triangle you selected in noir. The white in it complements your hair, and it looks spectacular on you. Wishing you a successful surgery tomorrow and a speedy, remarkable recovery.

Ooh, this design was made for this format! I love the idea of a ‘recovery incentive’ to help get you moving again, too ;)

Best of luck with the surgery tomorrow @de vent . Wishing you a speedy recovery.
