Hermes Special Order Event questions

I hope this is the right thread...I am 'invited' to a H Special Order event on Monday (tomorrow 27APR) where they close the shop for two days and offer SO's (not B or K). I have SO'd bags before however not via a special event. Would someone be so kind as to let me know if we pay ahead of time at the time of order (I was told this is a 'buy only' event) or is it like other SOs where you don't put down a deposit? It is for exotics and special skins, etc...I believe half of Greenwich was 'invited' however I'm just curious how this works. I appreciated the past SOs because one doesn't tie up tens of thousands for 9-12months before the item arrives however this might be a different procedure. Whilst I realize I should have asked the SA upon invite - I didn't think of it and the boutique is not answering the phones today or tomorrow as they are technically closed on Sunday and closed to the public tomorrow for the special event. Many thanks for advice/info...

This is the SALON 24 event. Unless it is different than the one I attended you choose and then order but do not pay until the bag arrives, usually about 2 monthes. Have fun, it is a really cool event.

Thanks! I called and they confirmed that payment is like the standard SO's...so not until September :-)...I only ask because I read a few other SO posts where members were asked to leave deposits at the time if ordering their SO.

Sounds like a cool event.. So lucky to be invited!
Just FYI.. I had to pay deposit on my SO because i requested my initials stamp on the clochette. If requested without initials stamp, then no deposit required. At least thats how it works in my local store..

Oh! If anyone has attended the event - please let me know what is offered, to expect, etc. I've been to H events in the EU but not in the US and the other events were private parties- not public/private venues...

Do I understand this is at the Greenwich CT store? Is that a company store or a franchise?

Does sound like fun, but I've never heard of it. Is this SOs for non birkin or kelly bags?

Hi - I believe they are open today and tomorrow for the special event. They are normally closed on Sundays (except at Christmas) so technically they are only closed to the public tomorrow. I've never been to a special event like this one - so I have no idea what to expect. I have gone to H parties and personal events but not whatever this one is!

Even closing one day to the public is surprising. Wish one of the NYC boutiques would have an event like this.........

Yup a few other Hermes around the country have had this event and they close for event and usually include a Sunday
In the past it is by appointment, that is you have a time alloted to you.

I'll post about it!! However...being invited probably means I've spent way too much supporting the H bottom line! I'm not sure if this is such an honor I really need to achieve in Greenwich! I have a bag closet now just for H...time to do a little Spring cleaning after the event!!! I mentioned to someone else that I hope they have champagne or wine! I have to be a wee tipsy when I inform my DH that I spent more at H than he did on his latest car LOL!! Oye...any ideas what to wear? H Events I have previously attended have been in the evenings only and were not to promote H per se...
