I’m probably gonna cause a ruckus with this post. Err I heard that for us normal beings, it’s going to be reduced to 1 QB a year in SG. Context is that my BFF just collected her QB and her SA basically told her that she’s not going to be allocated another one this year. SA said that it’s tough in SG. Caveating here that VIP or longer term clients might have diff allocations.

I was actually thinking bag stocks might be improving this year as some forumers recently posted that they didn’t wait very long for their QBs, and I also got my first offer around 5 weeks of submitting my request (turned down due to leather type and decided to wait for my preferred specs). Seems like this might not be the case. I’ll ask my SA the next time I pop in too though I’m ok with 1 QB a year, as I’ve been trying for the past few years to adopt a slower pace of more considered purchases that I am certain I will use, and of items that will last for a long time.

Just came back from the carre craft animation event. Bought some silks and learnt how to tie them in different ways. Overheard an SA telling a tourist couple that there were no bags for them even though the couple spent a few thousand today. Oh well, just another normal day at Hermes

I was told the same at the start of this year

I’ve already met prespend for my 2nd and 3rd qb but still waiting for 1st. If it is one qb per year I’m gonna be very disappointed

I can’t rollover my prespend at the boutique I shop so I’ve slowed down my purchases while waiting, though I have continued to buy some seasonal items and there are a few more items I have requested. Totally understand your feelings if there is really a limit of 1 per year

I feel like if you’ve already “prespent for three bags” but haven’t even gotten one yet…that someone is getting played. Wonder how long until Singapore drastically increases their prespend levels as this situation is clearly untenable. “Meeting prespend and then waiting up to a year“ or longer for a bag says that supply is way too low for the given demand and ratios need to be adjusted. Bags are allocated to stores based on how much the clientele as a whole purchases from the rest of the categories; if the store isn’t bringing in enough sales to support the clients all getting bags when promised, then the store is setting the promise threshold way too low and many clients are essentially being lied to. TLDR— the math ain’t mathing.

Could it be the stores are still clearing quota bags “owed” to customers overseas? Countries like China has been late to open up after covid.

I know that last year they were clearing some bags to customers who came back from nearby south East Asian countries.

A lot of the older clients at my store have moved away from bags to buying FJ, RTW and home ware. Don’t think it’s an issue with sales figures.

What we see is demand outstripping supply. Even if you can roll over prespend, there’s no point because you’re not allocated QB2. This brings us to the most important point ie we always remind ladies to only buy what they love and not because they can get allocated QB1.2 or 3. But can we accept the new reality? This actually looks like it’s a fait accompli. There’s no choice unless you diversify in EU or Jp/Hawaii.

My friend has been doing that for years - diversifying at different H boutiques in the US, Europe, HK and Tokyo. Because of her spend, US boutiques SA/SMs don’t mind she shops elsewhere.

A selling supervisor based in the US told me that it’s the customers’ perogrative to buy wherever they wanna buy.

Based on my experience, some SAs are more open minded than others. Some are quite “jealous”.
