Hermes SA relationship and online experiences?

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

tPF has been mentioned to me by the SA. I just put a stupid look on my face and act like I don't know what they are talking about. If I were to meet a tPFER at the boutique and if an employee was rude enought to ask me how I knew the person (it really is none of their business) I think I would say that I know them from the Country Club or a charity. My life is my business and my feeling is that I don't owe an expanation regarding my interests, hobbies or where I purchase my Hermes bags!

Doc, did you admit it was you? I still would have played dumb on that one and had a good private laugh!

I agree
I try not to mention tPF or Ebay in case I ever need to go down the reseller route...

my store and my manager knows everything about tpf in fact reads it personally (as do other managers h corporate sa´s etc) he even says when i get some info to not publish it "on the group you are a a member of" i am unsure if he knows my screen name though i do not post pics (that also has other reasons some know ) as i love to chat here etc without giving 100% proof to my store that it is me if that makes sense.
this beeing said my manager finds this board a good idea and told me he got some nice customers also memebrs on here but as always some bad ones can ruin the whole thing but so far the positive sides far outnumber the bad ones

ebay on the other hand is a nono or at least a hush hush kind of thing.( believe me that with some bags on there h kknows exactly who sold them to the sellers )

My SAs and I have talked about the use of the web and Hermes - they were very interested in my opinion when Les Ailes d'Hermes first started. The SAs know this forum and specialist scarf forums exist but just aren't bothered by them except that they can be used for purposes of misinformation as well as information. The real stuff to worry about is to be found in the shops ( in the sense of 'how the hell am I going to pay for this?') !

I've never discussed tPF or ebay with my SA. Usually I say that one of my friends (as you all are here to me) "just purchased the most gorgeous item and sent me pictures", or my friend "was in another boutique and saw something she thought I'd like."

My SA knows I got some of my stuff online 'cos it's just so difficult for them to get it for me. I bet the SM knows too. All I can say is that I feel very comfortable with my H store.

^ It was an Ahh Haaa moment for me when I realized that some people do reveals quite a while after buying a bag saying 'I just bought it' so as not to pinpoint the date of purchase.

Funny, I do not buy fron ebay nor do I sell stuff there, but I check regularly in search of information on existing objects. Like I saw one day a raspberry keychain and fell in love, but following my rule to purchase only from the store I passed on it. Since then my attempts to find it in a stores failed so far. Even though I am pretty sure they have it in the drawers.
Now I even regret not buying it from ebay at the time.
And thanks to this forum I got introduced to the concept of rainbow which I loved and have already bought several items within 2 month in the store, so what could be wrong in exchanging info on TPF? I would say it popularises the interest and raises demand for items other than Birkins and Kellys.

Both stores I frequent are well aware of tpf, even though we never mention it by name. They also can tell when something is discussed here, because they then get lots of calls about the item.
