Do you have any bad experience with the double cashmere type?
I have never had pilling issues on Hermes cashmeres, just normal pilling on my cardis due to frequent use. The double cashmere doesn't pill in my experience.

I really hope they're not starting to use lower quality yarns. Excessive pilling might be the result of the short fibers used in lower grade cashmere yarn. I love Hermes RTW because of the very high quality of the materials are and how beautifully the garments are made. If they go the way of Chanel and start cutting corners, I'm out.

Glad to know that. I love their double cashmere

I have a cashmere medor button car length coat (double faced) that has not been worn much. It’s not really pilling, but it looks kind of fuzzy and tired. I do like their cashmere silk blend sweaters or sweaters that are not cashmere (not sure if my latest ones are cotton silk or simply wool, but they’re sturdy basics). DH loves the men’s cashmere silk zip cardigans from a few seasons ago.

I have been wearing different H double-faced cashmere coats for quite some years. I love them. Very soft, light-weight, comfortable, and don't seem to have much pilling issues. I do have pilling issue with one pair of H wool pants.
Other H cashmere or wool sweaters seem to wear pretty well with no pilling issues. I have all of them professional dry-cleaned.

Some of my older pieces of double cashmere coats have worn relatively well.. They just show very light
wear & tear which is due to the nature of cashmere & I lean towards leathers, silks & suedes
now as I don't like that "fuzzy" look but I also love the look of the simplicity & details of H
coats & jackets that I own so I just wear them as I don't want them sitting in the closet
But over time, I lean towards leathers & suedes as they wear well for me & I have learned
well with regard to H fabrications
I can say that for some people who don't wear ostrich because they don't like the oils from their
skin discoloring their bag.. I don't mind that & I like the patina especially of box leather, so we all
have our personal reasons as to why cashmeres/leathers appeal to us & what makes it doable

I was putting away my coats as weather is warming up and noticed this little piece of advice from Hermes themselves on their double cashmere. My coat looks totally fine after a season of wear (although I have lots of coats and rotate so it wasn’t heavily used) but sounds like proper dry cleaning is recommended by H themselves and pilling / fuzz certainly can be a potential concern. I personally loooove cashmere!

Finally I have the pants in my possession. Was a journey — ordered/ paid for end of January, mishap at the store, getting them hemmed at my local tailor bc of mishap but Hermes went above and beyond to actually pay for the alterations at my local store .. 3 pants . @nymeria — you started it !View attachment 5759349View attachment 5759350View attachment 5759348View attachment 5759351
So happy they finally arrived. They look absolutely fabulous on you- I can see why you got all 3! And great to hear how H paid for the tailoring.
You’ve inspired me- I’m now considering a back up for my black ones. I wore them incessantly to work all winter and spring.
