Hermès RTW event?

The woman on the far right was facilitating the Seattle RTW event as well. There wasn't a ton to see, nor was there any models, food or drinks, but I was able to try a few things.

Yeah I get the sense she's traveling with the event... our SA was telling us that the event goes from store-to-store, and as it goes along, the stock dwindles. SF is early in the circuit since it's a flagship (I think he said second or third). It was handled in a similar way to their Flower and Dog events this year...appointment only, didn't really feel like a special event other than having a special set of items from that collection to look at/purchase. I think they're just trying to do the best they can to get the items in customer's hands while dealing with the pandemic protocols. Hopefully next year it'll go back to a better format.

Are these pretty much just normal shopping events or do they also do bag offers during the event?
The main focus is RTW, so I'd caution against expecting bag offers at such events. The ones that I have attended in the past are solely to showcase the seasonal RTW and an opportunity to try the garments.

what is the difference between an RTW event and a trunk show?

The trunk show/ resee H events I’ve been to have been off site and with no clothing available to purchase. Limited ability to try other (you can slip on some jackets). Somewhat crowded. (These are to preview the coming collections). Typically, with other brands (like brunello) all merchandise at trunk show is available to be ordered for the individual client. At Brunello, you can also order stuff in different colors and fabrics. Not so here.

I’ve been to RTW events at Madison which were like filenes basement: at the old store, with only two dressing rooms, people were trying stuff on in between rolling racks of clothes lol. Refreshments were served.

A nicer RTW event that I can recall last summer? was a private appt when the store was closed with nibbles and a model. There was also a photographer who took a candid and an artist who did a sketch ink watercolor of you from the photo in the RTW you purchased. You got the sketch as a memento of the day. It was a nicer way to shop (you could buy and take home your purchases). I posted about it at the time in the relevant thread, see this thread, post 3295 : https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/hermes-new-york-city-stores.666239/page-220

A men’s RTW, MtM, and bespoke event occurred earlier this year. More like a real trunk show. More results oriented, and the head tailor from FSH flew in with a team of RTW and managers. There were things to try on, and one could make individual orders (which I believe are due to arrive in October). Which IMO is better than a resee described above, bc there is no guarantee of getting the clothes. Some of the most beautiful things shown at resee weren’t in production and/or were not purchased by the home store.
