Hermès Exchange and Return Policy

I’ve bought two holiday gifts in November that apparently aren’t great hits and they’d like to exchange… at this point it’s past 30 days. Do you think H will still take back for a credit due to the holidays?

Its not up to us to advise you what Hermes would/could do. Talking with them directly is the way to go.
Good Luck.

My SA says it’s not a big deal and they’ll accept the exchange/ return… but the person I’ve gifted to isn’t in the same state and would have to take them into a different store

I know this is not a sympathetic response, but how do we react when somebody complains that they bought something from a boutique that they thought was not brand new i.e. previously sold and returned?

How is it any different if it’s 32 days or within 30 days? I imagine the item(s) are still sealed and brand new. They’re beauty items. I’m just asking if I tell them to go return it to their closest boutique, will it be a fruitless headache for them or should they only ship it back to my boutique?

Call their location and ask ahead.

1) you did not explain that they were sealed and brand new

2) the difference between 32 and 30 days is that 32 days is outside of the returns time period stated by Hermes
it's not unreasonable that there is a stated time frame
if it recognised that it does not matter 32 becomes 35 then 37 - when does it stop?

3) nor did you just ask if it would be fruitless for them to be returned to their closest boutique
it was only after reponding to my first post that
you just stated that they were not in the same state so would have to return them to a different store

@TheTravelBunny I would like to add that even by luck that someone may have successfully returned beyond 30 days that doesn’t mean you or your friend can too. Just pick up the phone and talk to the store(s) directly to get the proper answers for the return policy of your purchase. Good luck.

Amateur hour here but I have a dumb question. Can I return my in store purchase at any store? I’ve told my SA that I want to return a bracelet but I won’t be able to get to them during the return period. Will I be able to return it to the store closest to me?
Yes, you can return the item to any H-owned store. However, in the US you'll get a store credit, not a refund is my understanding. If you return it to the closest store to you, I believe the credit will be with that store, not your home store. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. :flowers:

Thank you. Oh that will be annoying, but I suppose I can live it with. I know there are only credits, but I was hoping it would be transferrable back to my store.

ETA: Called H corporate in the US and was informed that the credit runs with my profile and can be spent at any store, including my home store despite returning to another US store.

You’re right, with the only exception being Manhasset, I think. I’ve seen them accept and I’ve seen them not accept returns (probably depending on what the item is). I’ll ask next time I’m in if there is an actual policy for them.

Curious if your SA was open to you shipping it back to her for the return? I’ve gotten the vibe from stories from my SA that they greatly prefer to handle returns themselves and that clients returning things purchased from them, to other stores reflects poorly on them somehow.

I texted today to see if there were any worries but no reply yet. Eek!

This is my experience as well....returned an item in Palm Beach, used the credit in Beverly Hills. Returned an item at Beverly Hills, used the credit at Madison. It's in your customer profile.

This may not be the right place to ask but does anyone have experience with how to get a refund on a charge send order that has not arrived in 2 months? My SA is not responding to texts and I don't want to be difficult but I think I would rather just have the item refunded than keep waiting. This is my first time with a charge send and I never got email confirmations which I'm not sure is normal. I have my receipt from when I paid in store would I be able to call and have someone help process the return or does it need to be the original SA or manager? Would really appreciate if anyone knows what to do in this situation!

Thank you in advance!
