Has anyone seen the new Hermes furniture collection? I have only seen the pictures on the web from the annual furniture show in Milan. I have two sofas and two chairs from the B&B /MAXALTO collection designed by Antonio Citterio. I am in love with this man, the design and the crafting on the Maxalto is amazing. Citterio has now designed for Hermes and the pieces are wonderful. There is a new table with a marble top and leather legs. I nearly fainted in fronT of the computer when I saw it. Chairs in walnit with leather seats. I just purchased a new Italian dining table with 8 chairs, OMG, now Hermes has a table. I want that table!!!!

If anyone takes a look at the new pieces please tell me what you think. I am ony a short distance from Paris. I am finished with school mid June , vacation until mid August. Sending my kindergarten babies to first grade. I will go and visit the flagship shop in June. OMG, REALLY WANT THAT TABLE!!!

The pieces are VERY Citterio/Maxalto. I'll stick to my '92 Citterio/B&B Cubis pieces :) I can only imagine that the pieces in the collection must be astronomically priced. But then again, factoring in price-per-sitting...

ktown,

I am a passionate Hermes guy and junkie of everything Hermes. I own an H-leather jacket, gloves, and even the H-bicycle with leather accents. When I saw this thread I had to respond. I too almost fainted when I saw the new furniture collection line.

I've been reading all kinds of interesting articles about the collection - did you know that in the late 1920's Hermes collaborated with Jean-Michel Frank to come out with a furniture collection. Part of the maison line is a re-introduction of J-M. Frank's modernism line. Did you also know that Anne Frank is the daughter of J-M. Frank.

See attached link for more pictures and description. Enjoy the read.

Regards.

I really want one of the Pippa chairs for my dressing table. Does anyone have one?

An interesting (and certainly luxurious!) wall module system from. A little emotionless and sterile. Truth be told, I think this is actually pretty ugly.

In other news, Hermès to open 40 standalone La Maison stores? I've a feeling the article has their facts mixed up, I'd imagine this = an expansion of stores in the Asia region to accurately showcase the Maison lifestyle. I'm a little excited by this.

Wow, that module system is totally retro. It would fit in Don & Megan's apartment on Mad Men.

I do think the article is mixed up. Hermes is going to release a set of 40 collection for its home line. There has already been reports of Hermes reducing the number of stores it will open in the future. Shigeru Ban is a talented designer. His Paper House Pavilion for Hermes was a sucess. So, it's a wise move to hire him for 2012 collection.
