I went to china and part south east asia and almost shocked on how good H bag is ( no , not just H , all brands actually ) , some are apple to apple to the authentic . Of course selling those are illegal but the volume of counterfeits, nobody can stop the production TBH. It’s mainly from southern part China. And I own several real H bags and i been buying only real Chanel Dior for long2 time. For the very good ones, they are stamped made in France , for the ones $1500 usd and above , not made in China. the ones viral from TikTok , with selling price $40 usd above , that’s actually the worst quality replicas. The best quality replicas cost over $1k . There are price list for qualities , you can pick as low as 50 dollars and as high as 2k . Crazy world out there, I’m speechless …. ( anyways , I am Just sharing what I saw in real life) . 😊😊
I believe you… l have seen some high society members on Instagram who regularly buy replicas and even featured in well known magazines for their H collection! I know they are replicas through their post history…and close ups of their bags would reveal small details that are missing/slightly defective (not all bags, but if one or 2 is fake l assume all are fake)

SM influencers are literally making-up news to keep posting on this subject. One suggested Hermes is suing the factories that make their (H) bags to silence them. I'm not going to post links.

The misinformation luxury gravy train for clicks is just irresistible. The only A1 fake fabrications are the stories folks want to believe. Fakes have been around for a very long time, it amazes me that people actually can't get their head around how business (and crime) works.

I'm so pleased you are addressing this in the open. Many years ago, desperately wanting my first Hermes bag, I opted for a counterfeit. $300 - from China - and the quality was hideous. The chemical smell was overpowering. I did not use even one time it but after 2 or 3 months the "leather" became as hard as laminex and I donated it to the charity store.
Thesedays I say to people if you want to try out an authentic Hermes Birkin for a fraction of the price, don't risk a Chinese site, go straight to eBay for a pre-loved Orange transparent one :)

Sadly, many "influencers" just copy what they hear without doing some basic thinking. Hermès has a lot of factories - almost all in France. If the products were made in Asia why they would need those and employ 25k employees?

On the other hand I am well aware that other brands outsource to Romania - I do some other business there so I got to know. Not that this is illegal but I would feel a bit fooled buying shoes or bags from well-known brands stating "made in Italy" but actually coming from Romania.

Cartier for example states where the items are made, I have pieces from Italy, Switzerland and France; the boxes - however - are sources from Thailand.

I wouldn't worry about Hermès and its "made in France" - for me this is accurate.

From what I understand, a lot of luxury bags have factories and suppliers in China and then the final step is assembled in Europe so they can put the "Made in Italy/Spain/France/Europe" tag. However, I have never heard of Hermes doing this in China. I learned about this years ago after reading a few fashion books. I would recommend Dana Thomas' books "Deluxe: How Luxury Lost its Luster" and "Fashionopolis: The Price of Fast Fashion and the Future of Clothes."

How many times have media shown and filmed that H has factories in France and they are making their Bs and Ks there in the story? I believe they are really made in France. But even if they were not, the quality is good, I love my H items, and I only buy what I could afford. So, I am not really bothered by their "fake news". Even if their "value" drops, I am not affected. I don't plan to resell any of them anyway. Funny though that no matter how they try to crush H, one still cannot buy a B as a walk-in and without a prespend 99% of the time!

One of the main reasons brands manufacture in China is to support high volume production at lower labor costs. But Hermès has never operated on that kind of scale—certainly not when it comes to their leather goods. They barely do mass production, for their beauty line, and absolutely not for bags, which are handcrafted by trained artisans in France. That’s part of what makes them so coveted.

The craftsmanship, stitching, and leather selection at Hermès still remain in a league of their own. Replicas are like fake Picassos
