Hermes locations in NJ

I’m about to start my H journey and have been debating between the Riverside Square and Short Hills locations. Riverside Square is five minutes from my house and Short Hills is about 25 minutes away. While I am not planning on a B/K immediately, I would be interested within the next 2 years, with my 40th birthday as the goal deadline. Which store would you choose with this in mind? For those in NJ, what is your current experience with stock for each store? Some advice on here for these stores is almost a decade old, so want some more current opinions

I got my K last month from Riverside after shopping there for about 6 months and did not have to spend a lot to get it (I was definitely not 1:1 ratio). I’ve never walked into the Short Hills H so I can’t comment on that location. I think it doesn’t hurt to start a relationship with an SA at Riverside especially since it’s so close to home.

Riverside is moving to American Dream Mall eventually. They are also a smaller store so they make you buy a lot in order to obtain a B or K. I think you might have better luck in the Short Hills location.
Thank you - I had a feeling Short Hills would be the best option! And yes, I was aware of the Riverside Square location moving to American Dream, though who knows when it will ever open :hrmm::hrmm:

Short Hills recently remodeled/reopened so I would think their inventory would be good.
I saw that they remodeled when I was at Short Hills Mall a few weeks ago! I’m going to make an appointment to go in towards the end of the month. I’ve actually never even been an Hermes store! Everything shut down when I started getting the itch to start my H journey so I’ve spent the past year researching and learning.

I think the "inventory" will be better at Short Hills. I have shopped at both, there are some
very nice SA's at Riverside, but Short Hills likely will have a bigger variety & selection.
Good luck finding what you are interested in & be optimistic as you just never know!

Thank you! I have a good list going of what I’d like to add over the next couple years (outside of B/K) so I’m excited to get started!

Good to know! I am finally going on Friday morning. Was there a line when you were there? Every trip to Short Hills these past few months have had insane lines outside LV, Chanel and Gucci and am wondering if Hermes will be the same now that they have done away with appointments. I was at Riverside Square Mall last Saturday and there was a line outside Hermes but that store is much smaller and also it was mid-afternoon on a rainy Saturday.

Same with KOP re the lines. My son asked me to go to the LV store for him, so I got there before they opened -- at least 20 people ahead of me and I waited one hour to get in. If I wasn't going for him, I'd have left. And this was on a weekday morning.

There was a line, but I only waited maybe two minutes. I think there were approximately 7 or 8 SAs working so things moved very quickly. Granted I was there around 11:00am so I’m sure it’s busier during the end of the day.

Thank you! I plan on getting there before opening on Friday, so I should be okay I guess.

The lines at LV make my head spin. Unless I was going in dead set on a specific item that I knew they had in stock, there is no way I would wait that long. (Plus I would never take up an SA’s time if I knew I was just browsing.)

Update: Went to Short Hills this morning and got there before opening....and still had to wait for about 30 minutes and I was the second one on line. Had I known that while appointments weren't necessary and it was still an option to make one, I would have made an appointment. But once I was in, I was introduced to an SA named Sarah and she was absolutely amazing. I purchased a pair of Orans in Gold and a Bastia in Etoupe - both what I believe to be excellent first purchases :) I will definitely be back to shop with Sarah next month...or before that because now I think I'm officially bitten by the H bug.
