Hermes Izmir Sandals Question

Are there any H sandals for men that are a bit wider than the Izmirs? I bought a pair of these for my partner, but he can't get his foot all the way forward. I'm guessing because the strap portion isn't high / wide enough. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hermes suggests buying 1/2 size bigger to accommodate wider feet. I am a size 41 and I bought the Izmir 41.5, the nature of the sole and the front part makes the sandal a narrower shoes than most. I am debating whether to return them or get a size 42. I hope the leather will stretch more. But I can’t try them even at home without the risk of marking the soles. Then I won’t be able to return them. Hermes should make these sandals true to size.

Same issue with me. See my previous post. Hermes suggests taking 1/2 a size larger, but still, with that (41.5 instead of my normal size 41), the front part still feels a bit tight. Of course if I take 42, the shoe itself may be too long for my heel.

This exact same situation happened to my partner. The sole got marked and now we can't return them And the shoes don't fit him
