Hermès in store pick-up experience?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has some experience with in store pick-ups at Hermès? As I really like the shopping experience in the physical stores I rather not have my purchases delivered to my house, but I don't want to miss out on any items either ;). I contacted Hermès allready but the e-mail response was rather vague. They told me I have the opportunity to inspect the item before thaking it out of the store but they also told me I will not get a shopping bag. "The product is wrapped only in it associated packaging and does not come with a shopping bag." I found this rather odd so just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this.

Thanks in advance.
Interesting... I've brought items large and small from Hermes and always got a bag. As a matter of fact...One day I purchased 9 items and asked for nine small to medium size bags for each because I was gifting, and it was no problem. I saw an Hermes Horse saddle there for sale and wondered to myself, "How big will the box and paper shopping bag be for that ?!? Madison Avenue, NYC
"J!m"

Don't expect you to have to haul a 10kg saddle after dropping 7k on it ;).

You should try to buy a Hermes bike or table football! The bike comes with a orange box! :graucho::graucho:

Usually those are display models. Unless they have the exact measurements of the horse already someone would have to fit the saddle (to the horse) and therefore they'd come to you (at the stables).

I’ve purchased from the Palo Alto location a couple times - no charge for the paper shopping bag. But I can’t speak for any collect in store sales.

My receipts at SF always have a 10cent packaging fee. Not sure if that is the fee for the shipping bag or not as the items all come in boxes... I never asked what the 10cents was for. Maybe I’ll ask next time.

Just curious. In general, how long after you order is the item available in store? Also does anyone have experience collecting in store in other countries? I am travelling to Italy in October, and the Italian website has more colors than the US website. If I wanted to collect something in the store in Italy, how long ahead of time should I order?

I've only done this for London and I got lucky the item I ordered arrived at the store I chose in less than a week. I'd say order a couple of weeks ahead just in case.

The item leaves the warehouse pretty quickly. It was like next day within France. And I think 2-3 days to Italy. I don’t quite remember. That’s assuming they have it in stock in the warehouse. You may want to call the Italian customer service. They are very friendly.
