Hi all, I will be in Amsterdam next week and would appreciate if anyone could share either an SA’s email or the store’s email. It would be a short visit and so I am hoping that I could check the availability of some items (non-bag) on my wish list and request that they be set aside if possible :)

Hi everyone, I'm heading to Amsterdam next week and will definitely be in for H shopping! =D

May I ask if anyone knows what's the spending quota in Amsterdam before one can get a BKC? of course the hope is always to spend as little as possible but I'm realistic and I really want to score a bag in Europe where the price is so much better.

I'm heading to Paris after Amsterdam - should I save the effort & $ and concentrate on Paris instead? I used to have a nice SA in the George V store in Paris but she has since moved on. Sadly I will have to rebuild a relationship with a new SA.

At the risk of going off topic as I have not shopped at the Amsterdam store in years, even if your GV SA has left, the store still has all your prior purchases there on record. It would be helpful if you are looking for a B/K/C there, instead of starting from scratch at a new store.

I was in Amsterdam and Paris early to mid April- prior to the new store opening. For what it's worth, I stopped at both the Hermes in Amsterdam. The SAs in both were lovely. The store in Hooststraat did not have what I was interested in ( after being politely told that a B was NOT in my future there!). When I was in the other store, I was again told that they specifically save their B/K for local customers, but again, she could not have been nicer, and I was able to get the exact Bolide I wanted ( which they did not have at the other store). I was then able to do the VAT Global Blue there at the store, so if I did not get anything in Paris , I would be able to save the time in CDG. When I was in Paris, I never got an appt at FSH but was able to ( amazingly) get my HG B30 at Sevres. I was told there that the prior purchase in Amsterdam did NOT have anything to do with this, as they do not have access to records outside of France. Got a few other things in Paris ( scarves), and therefore had the 2 VATs to drop at CDG. Whew!. So extrapolate what is relevant for you and good luck!. More importantly, have a great time in 2 fantastic cities.

It's a beautiful store. Spoke with several SAs. They really like this new store. The old one is now closed. Evidently from the beginning, Chanel was only supposed to be a temporary resident. Still some work going on (hence the horizontal bars on one of the windows).

Is scoring and Evelyne hard at this locations and also does anybody know the VAT rate in Netherlands ?

An Evelyne is normally easy to find. The shop may not have the exact color you are looking for but I've never had a problem if willing to wait for a store transfer.

Standard VAT rate for the Netherlands is 21%, however keep in mind that H uses Global Blue. After Global Blue's admin fees (by my last calculation it was about 3% maybe), and any currency conversation fees, you end up seeing a savings of maybe closer to 14-16%.

Also checkout the H at Schiphol airport. I was offered a Constance the last time I was there. All the SAs I encountered during my short time in AMS were very nice and accommodating.

Congrats for the C.:yahoo:
Did you buy other stuff to be offered a Constance? I will fly to Schiphol airport next year. Hope I could be as lucky as you.
