When of earlier five shawls suddenly only one was left on our H website, I really rushed to finally pull the trigger: Plisse Shawl 140 Tatouage Marins in Natural/Black! The natural is darker than expected when the pleats are folded tightly; it gets lighter when the folds are more openly worn:

Fixed with my small leather scarf ring or a Twilly (to go with navy):

Besides with black or anthracite, it‘s best with eggshell white:

Really like how the shawl drapes! It is just a great feel wearing it! That said I am not (yet…) absolutely sure wheather I will keep it. Am not wearing black much and although I love off-white I would not necessarily combine it with black. Being the pale type, I worry that this piece is not entirely for me. Dear Scarfies, your opinions are welcome! ❤️ - Okay, one more pic to show off the beauty of this special piece… Would I be able to really send this back…? :girlsigh:

This is absolutely beautiful and so very elegant. It’s a lovely design for a plisse imho. I vote for keeping.

Stunning pictures and it is a gorgeous piece obviously. Your decision on whether to keep it or not would depend on your cost/benefit consideration and how versatile this piece will be for you. I have a few plisse scarves in silk and I barely reach for them (if at all). I find that once pleats get out of shape from the scarf being knotted, the scarf doesn’t look as appealing to me - so I have a bunch of them waiting to be taken to a boutique to be re pleated. They are also hard to clean, etc. If your original intention is to have a special piece (something different for your collection, a unique piece) - then you should keep it - as it is indeed precious and gorgeous. If you are looking for practicality and versatility, I would go for regular flat version (as it is a stunning design and probably one of the best CWs).

@Sammy Royal - When I first saw your post, I was so mesmerized by the images (and all of your creative ties) that I did not notice your question regarding whether or not you should keep this shawl. While I completely understand that you feel limited by what you could wear with this particular colorway, the plisee pleats make what would be ordinary, straight lines of black, wavy and visually fascinating. Even though you are pale (just like me), I think this shawl makes you look ethereal and sophisticated. This shawl is just magically transformative with its pleats, and it elevates your look dramatically in every image you have taken of yourself wearing it. My vote is for you to keep it! What other shawl would look that spectacular against ivory and black?

Thank you so much! Totally agree with you that this is a lovely design for a plisse!

Dear Ashanti, thank you very much for your insights which are really helpful! The hard to clean part had me worried, too. However, I found that this shawl will not be worn near my face (and make-up), so, I feel that I should manage to wear it without too much danger. You made a good point mentioning practicality or whether I am looking for a special piece… The latter is the case. I have sufficient “practical“ shawls and after checking my wardrobe further, there are, indeed, some nice black pieces that are still without a lovely partner in the shawl department. So, am more and more tending to the “I will keep it for sure“-side.

Thank you soo much, dear BagsRGreat, for your wonderful post and compliments! You are right, of course: If I have to decide on a great neutral which in ivory and black is, indeed, missing in my collection, what other shawl would be as amazing…? Thank you very much for mentioning this! ❤️

Makes sense! I think this is a gorgeous special piece. Enjoy it!!!

I love this design in the plissé version 😍 I find it very elegant, sophisticated and a truly exceptional piece. I do understand your initial hesitation regarding the cw though. I find it very very pretty with black and white ( as you styled it). But I have two shawls with the Natural background and I find that they can sometimes look a bit dull irl… not sure if that is also the case with yours. Have you seen the caramel/blue noir version of this plissé? It looks very beautiful also…

It’s very beautiful and in my opinion flatters you completely. Perhaps, try it with pale blue and olive green as well.

Thank you kindly for your comments! “Dull“ was, indeed my first impression when opening the box… ;) I found that this shawl needs to be worn, needs to be in motion to unfold its beauty. I had considered the caramel/navy version first but owning another small CS shawl in caramel, I know that caramel would not be for me in a large size. Actually, the longer I think about it, my natural/black version fills a gap in my collection really nicely!

Dear Maedi, thank you so much for your lovely compliments and ideas! I tried pale blue, but the shawl looks a bit off IMO. I also tried olive which works quite well. Thank you!!

It seems that every piece works beautifully that is featuring either ivory and/or black besides any additional colour. Checking my wardrobe accordingly now - but already decided that I will definitely keep this plisse treasure - also thanks to all my experienced scarfy friends here who gave their valuable advice! Thank you all so much! ❤️❤️❤️
