I hope this is ok to ask in this thread...I just purchased the Les Douze Leopards double face scarf in CW 02. I love the scarf and the colors, but I noticed that there are small "pulls" along the sides. I don't know if this is typical of double face scarves? This is my first purchase in this format. I hate to return it just to have a second one come in the same way. But I don't know if these pulls will just get worse with time. :confused1:

I would exchange it, it's not normal to have the pulls if it's brand new (and double faced scarves are not cheap!). If you can....do it in store so you can inspect the replacement.

It's a beautiful scarf, but none of my double faced ones are like this. You should take it back. These beauties are too expensive to accept these flaws. Since the season is just starting, there will be many more in this colorway that will not have pulls/runs like this.

Good afternoon, scarfies! I went Face Time shopping with a lovely friend in Montreal and this arrived today! Au Royaume De Helios (04). I have nothing like this in my 70 collection and I love Matthieu Cosse's work. This didn't disappoint me but I must say colorwise it feels like it has a strong resemblance to some of the Chale Bleu scarves @Jereni made a thread for... I include a shot in afternoon sunlight because the colors are really very beautiful...

I tried on cw 12 of En Liberte! today and I have to say that whilst the parme shade was beautiful on it, I otherwise found it too warm on me and with enough white that I had to think about how to get more of the colour next to my face instead of the white. I definitely prefer cw 5 that I posted yesterday. I liked it best in bias fold to show the middle of the scarf. Photo in case it helps anyone.

Good call @GloWW0rM and thank you for the photos!

Oh @JewelryLover101 -- how disappointing! Please send it back-- I just went upstairs and checked both 12 Leopards that I received as well as the Brandenbourg cw 02 and none of them have this defect. I am so sorry this happened on your order. If you can exchange to a boutique that will be best.

Yes indeed @mktlim! The best origin stories are scarfie friends helping each other out even when internet shopping won't allow it! :graucho: Happy to enable on any side of the border... And thank you to you and @GloWW0rM for your comments! I sometimes fall head over heels for the charm of the 70s-- their whimsical designs, silky vintage feel and size just bring me joy...

Hello @JewelryLover101, the colours are indeed beautiful!

These snags are caused by a blunt needle during the hemming. I count at least 10 pulls on this picture alone. You should not expect this on a newly purchased scarf, whether single or double-faced (it makes no difference). It’s perfectly reasonable to expect that your new purchase will be undamaged!

As others have recommended, I would suggest initiating a return for replacement. If it’s possible to make an exchange in store, all the better, as you will have a chance to inspect before taking the scarf home.

I hope this is resolved for you promptly, and please do share a picture of your beautiful 12 leopards when it is!

I would return it for exchange or store credit. At what these scarfs cost this is IMO too big an imperfection to keep it. This problem may be the same the QA/QC issues with the first double faced scarfs - most notoriously with C'est La Fete (& disappointingly since it was many tpfers' grail) . That said, I find it is sometimes an issue even with regular 90's around the hems. I can't stand these types of pulls so always inspect all scarfs carefully (including BOTH side of double-faced having been burned once wityh CLF) before leaving the store. Hope it works out for you.

Plus on the website there are other colourways which are a bit more “traditional” (or what is to me given where I live) for a “Western” bandana.

Hi scarfies! I caved and ordered En Liberte! shawl in cw05 Beige/ Vert/ Arnica. It’s not my usual colours but I wanted something different to what I own. Question is: does it wash me out? Beige is not typically a colour that goes well with my complexion but I feel like the other cooler colours balance it out and it works with my winter coats.

It doesn't wash you out at all, nor overpower, absolutely gorgeous

If I can I'm going to get this for a friend's birthday, he'd look so good in it. It will take all my willpower to hand it o v e r though :D

No, those pulls won't get worse with wear or cleaning. It is a rather common occurance and are a result of a needle going through the silk when rolling it. In a perfect world, the needle used for rolling needs to be super sharp in order to avoid it as silk is a delicate fabric, but as you can imagine we don't live in a perfect world. I am afraid if you return this one, the exchange will have the same issue. You can try of course. I wouldn't worry about it - unless one of those pulls is really ulgy or visible, etc. Good luck.
