I tried VERY hard to find something to buy, but I was only able to get a bow tie for my husband. Nothing for me!!! 
well my daughter and I went this morning, dissapointing to say the least, she got a bangle, and we left.
went to Macys, walked in the rain to Lord and Taylor, took and cab to Hermes on Madison where a lovely young lady helped me buy the black/brown H belt I have been wanting.
then home
not excactly the day we were hoping for, my daughter went to the march sale and said the selection was so much better, but the weather was to crummy for me to get in from NJ

It's not you. Of course, it took 3 people to get those bags since there was a 2 bag limit.
As crummy as the selection was, the really low limit made me happy because that group of resellers that usually goes in first couldn't hoard and buy all the good stuff (if there was any). It just annoys me that they get invited at all and more so that they get in with press and VIPs.
I know. It was very frustrating to watch certain people scoop up every cashmere shawl, every mousseline etc in one fell swoop before we could even get in the door.
I do like that plume though. Do you think that was at the sale.?
I was there the first day and saw no cashmere shawls. There was one mousseline that was on the table. I'm a big plume fan and didn't see any. There was no scooping because there was a 2 scarf minimum.

Yes, I get that the limit put an end to the scooping. I've never scored a cashmere shawl, but I have gotten a mousseline in the past. I am still loving that plume.

Gone are the days of the great sales. We are going to need a major downturn in the GLOBAL economy like in '08 to score great H, jewelry, furniture, homes, cars...etc. With global growth in Asia expanding and driving the rest of the world, the NY sale will continue to be lackluster. You already see it in the inventory...the newer bags come later and later, and when they do come, the volume is SIGNIFICANTLY less. All the inventory is going to the new boutiques overseas, where they are selling like hotcakes. Don't get me wrong, we still get some goodies, but just not in the same quantity as before and as it seems, not as quickly.
