Sounds amazing! What color is it? I was in Paris a month ago and was offered matt croc or ostrich C 18. It was a tough choice but I went for the ostrich. Love C 18 its a great bag in my opinion and lizzard is a gorgeous leather.

I believe this is the correct forum for my question. Just out of curiosity, which bag is more ”classic”/ “iconic” for alligator? K25 or b25?
Also, bonus if anyone has both and can tell me which they end up carrying more and why?
For a little bit more context, I let my SA know that I would be interested in an exotic (alligator) for a quota bag - I usually prefer smaller bags and my SA asked B or K. I like both and not sure if I would ever buy two exotics so I want to buy the more “classic” bag…

A Kelly is a classic bag; a Birkin is a tote
A Kelly is more classy
they are equally iconic - that is recognisable as Hermes and all that is associated with the brand
the Kelly is iconic in association with an aristocratic stylish lifestyle
whereas the Birkin has more Bohemian associations
the original bags were workhorses for their owner and her beat-up, used to destruction bags are iconic
"Classic" would be Kelly, a design that is coming up on 90 years old, although not in the 25 size. The Birkin is a tote, not a formal bag, and the B25 design is only 20 years old.
The Kelly, to me, also just seems to align well with alligator; while a gator Kelly is totally modern, the Kelly and alligator both also have a retro chic/forever chic vibe, and gator bags were made and carried when the Kelly first became popular (noting of course that alligator was then considered a daytime leather only).
Can you explain more of the history of the alligator leather being a daytime leather only? Super interesting!
Just keep your options open and see what Hermes sends your way. You’ll know which one is for you when you see it esp since you like both designs.
But the Kelly in sellier lisse in some gray or jewel tones are just tdf
Personally, the Kelly is more classic to me. I do agree that the Birkin reads more like a tote, but
that really comes down to a personal choice.
My first alligator was a Black Kelly 32, which at the time was used day into evening, now I prefer
a Kelly 35 & I am fortunate to own several colors both in box leather as well as exotic skins.
A black alligator is classic & timeless & the K25 would be a wonderful addition to one's wardrobe &
@sunrise92, Hermes does colors that are beyond spectacular, so whatever color comes your way,
you will make the right choice..

I was at my local boutique last month and my SA knows I don’t want any additional bags except for a Constance croc. My SA informed me I can get it any time I ask for it - they just need to source it from Paris if it’s not in the store and I need to tell her my specs of croc/color/size.
I’m updating from my prior post as her casual discussion made it clear I can get it right now and in any spec I want.
But “it’s Me” I’m the problem on this one. I know I want a c24 but can’t decide if I want brown/gold or black, and then I don’t know if I want shinny or matte. I’m also not in a rush, this yeah I purchased too many bags and I’m on a bag break as I am not using them much.

New to exotics. I have a question about alligator leather. I saw a major disparity in price bet the ff alligator leathers. Anyone with info as to why and what the characteristics are for both?
