Just stopped by there today and was also told that their inventory is VERY low.
As far as restaurants go, I like the recommendations given except I'd skip Bouchon. Have tried it a couple of times now and food is just ok. Nothing like it's namesake in Napa.
Also, just ate at Scarpetta last night. Have been there a few times now. Spaghetti is to die for!
Also, if you don't mind getting in your car or taking a taxi, I'd also recommend Bazaar at the SLS Hotel on La Cienaga Blvd. (it's only about 10 minutes from Beverly Hills). It is a Jose Andres, restaurant serving Modern and Traditional tapas, incorporating some molecular gastronomy.
