So far, my colleagues and their families are OK. Our office in Tokyo are a bit damaged though.

Hope everyone in NorCal is OK too.

I heard the pier and marina at Santa Cruz sustained $10 million in damage. :wtf:

My friends in Hawaii are okay. Glad to hear CB is well, too. :hugs:

Some of the manufacturing in Japan for DH's company and his chief competitors in the disk drive biz were totalled.

What a day.

Just popping in to check on all the Hawaii peeps and West coast peeps.

restricter, the first thing I thought about when I heard was you and hoping your company hadn't sent you to Japan or anything.

Scanning all the pics of everything today and just astounded at the devastation. And in the middle of all of it was a picture of two women with tired, confused looks on their faces - such sadness in their eyes and what do I notice? Something that made me ashamed. One was carrying an LV alma and the other had a 31 cm black bolide. And you could tell by the looks on their faces that what they were carrying was the LAST thing on their minds. I don't know why, but that really struck me.

I am glad all of the chat peeps are okay.

Don't be ashamed IL! I read your post and immediately thought of something a dear elderly friend told me recently (at a funeral of all things), "Enjoy life while you're living for you're a long time dead". She attributed the quote to her Scottish grandmother.

Hugs to all!

CB, we have been worried about you all day. Thank G-d you checked in and let us know all was well.
So, let the antioxidants fly.

LOL!!!

Love this!

Yes, I had a healthy snack of dark chocolate raisinettes. I feel so healthy now. :p

Here is a bit of video on the tsunami arriving in Kona....

gosh, its been a long day. My heart just aches for the people in Japan whose lives have been lost and whose homes have literally been scrubbed off the face of the earth. Mother Nature is a wild wild woman!!

Hi girls.

CB - so glad to hear you are ok :hugs: :hugs:

restricter - and so glad to hear your colleagues and their families are ok :hugs:

Wow, the news is just so scary, it really is. It's just devastating

I love you guys. First I am cracking up over the Raisinettes discussion, then I am sobered and thoughtful over IL's observation. The ridiculous to the sublime. I do love you guys.
