YesHave there ever been cashmere/silk shawls made with 70%/30% ?
The current ones (at least the ones I purchased this fall/winter) are 70% cashmere, 30% silk, which my salesperson made a point of showing me and saying they have deliberately increased the percentage of cashmere after customer concerns about wear.
I noticed the same thing, that all the older scarves were 65/35, and the new ones are 70/30. What concerns about wear did your SA mean, I had been curious as to the reason for the change. Thank you 😊
I was told they knew that the 65/35 scarves were more prone to pilling and upped the cashmere content. I hope this improves that particular issue! I have used one of my new ones quite a lot and it looks very nice after about six weeks of fairly heavy use. So I'm optimistic! With some of the older ones, pills started to happen fairly quickly.
Thank you, that's good to know![]()
I heard they didn't change anything other than the way they calculate the composition, in other words, the blend and weave is the same, but the listing on the label was recalculated.
A similar thing happened a few years ago when the bolide went from the designation of 37 to 35, same proportions, different way of measuring.

Cashmere is much more prone to pilling than silk, so the idea that increasing the cashmere content would reduce pilling seems strange. I don't doubt that the pilling issues have improved, I just don't think it is due to more cashmere/ less silk. More likely, it is due to a different cashmere source, change in dyeing process or chemicals, or a change in the finishing process. My SM told me nothing had changed, that the previous mix was in the middle 67.5% so they were rounding up now on the labels. That's why there were no price changes surrounding this specific change.
I do agree that my new shawls are wearing better than my first ones but they're a bit less soft. I don't have many but if I compare my Zebra Fall 14 to my Tyger Fall 15, it's much softer but also pilled and fuzzier.
