My SM told me that Japan does have a larger allocation of exotics - double than that elsewhere.

They have a larger allocation for EVERYTHING!

My SA shared that whilst the buyers for my local stores spent about 3 days shopping at the leather section during podium, the Japanese buyers spent about a week or more  That's how much they actually have to buy for the store!

Don't forget that in many parts of the world, Birkins are kept for all their regulars.

I won't be surprised that hundreds pass through each store, but only 1 or 2 (if any at all) make their way to the shelves. It's possible that some of the bigger stores receive an equal quota that Japan does, but they choose not to display it and keep it in the back.

Hi,
I know for sure that in some stores in Switzerland most birkins are kept for regular customers. I know the lady who runs the Hermes store in a small ski resort in Switzerland and she told me that out of her 30 birkins per year allocation, 25-28 are for regulars, and she makes sure to order them in the clients' desired colour/material etc.
I know it sucks but it does make sense, they are a business after all and like all businesses have to make a profit!
