Oh wow--super curious where they source from, and how they deal with authentication. BTW, I was talking to some SAs are Barney's yesterday, and they told me that Barney's is planning on discontinuing its selling of vintage H soon :-(

I am not sure if it is actually Barney's that sells preowned. These are items from the Heritage Auction house, to whom Barney's provides a storefront. Heritage has a partnership with Barney's and Moda Operandi to sell vintage luxury items.

Ah I didn't realize there was another company that sold through Barney's. I guess that would explain why the SAs said that Barney's wouldn't be carrying "heritage" items much longer--I thought they were using the word as another way of saying "vintage" lol.

2 different jewelry stores in my area have also begun selling preowned H (and other high end bags) in the past year or so. not sure if they use another company or reseller, but the bags tend to be older and not in very good condition.

My friend just sent me pics from Cabazon of the same bags that @dhankhim posted. The SA stated that the Birkins are circa 1996-1997, priced at $14 and 15,000 respectively. The SA said that they've had those bags since Labor Day weekend and had four more in the back.

These are pictures from the Saks Bergen Mall. I thought their purses looked pretty worn.

I remember reading a blog post from baghag i think, out how her friend bought a black birkin just like that online from website owned by roslyn matthews that turned out to be fake. According to her hermes never made black birkin witth white stitching (if i remembr correctly)

Lane crawford in HK also sells vintage birkins. But for me, the price isnt worth it. Its more expensive than if u get a new one in store. Is vintage supposed to be more expensive?

Hermes actually has made black bags with white stitching. If you are interested specifically in vintage please do a search. Lots of helpful info! Thanks.

Those are the prices I saw at Metro Pointe earlier this year too.

For the condition and no authenticity proof, kind of pricy.

According to the SA at Cabazon, they do provide some type of proof authenticity with the items. These seemed to be in pretty goid condtion given that they are 20 yrs old but pics can be deceiving.

I own, purchased by me from H a noir clemence birkin with contrast white stitching and it was a store order, not a PO or SO ordered.

I was at the palm springs outlet yesterday and they still had the crocodile kelly and three birkins at the Saks Outlet. I took good hard looks at the bags and they look to be in very good condition. They also had a few hermes watches, scarfs, enamel bangles and earrings in good-very good shape. Also had a kelly wallet but in fair condition with corners faded. Sorry I didn't bother to ask how much anything was since I was there with the in laws...

Oh they do? I wonder who authenticates for them. But good to know you get proof of authenticity.

Thanks for the info!

@bakeacookie, The SA said that the bags are on consignment from What Goes Around and they provide the authentication. My friend had me on her cell while she was in the store to relay questions, lol.
