@pyrexia, my recollection is not 100%, but no. When I tried it on crossbody, I lengthened it as much as possible and I would have mentioned extra length on the strap if I had seen any. If you look at the pics above, when it’s worn cross body, it’s at its longest length with very little room at the end of the strap. And, it’s only adjustable from one side. IMO, this is a runway bag, and the strap length indicates Hermes did not intend this bag to be worn crossbody or long shoulder.

It is also structured, and definitely not expandable without risking ruining the shape. I would not consider this anything like the old massai (which was relaxed and I recall had two straps) in terms of versatility or function.

The holes on the adjustable strap are numbered!
I bet it imitates the stirrup leathers (the pieces of leather that attach stirrups to the saddle and regulate their length). The holes on them are often numbered so one can make sure the stirrups are the same length on both sides (and to set it to the correct length easily if multiple people use the same saddle).

To add, price is $5800 in US for the toile/Swift version:

I can see the saddle flap reference. It’s kind of cool. If they make one in smooth Barenia, I will be tempted.

Thanks!

So likely this is to be a true hobo style of another crossbody type. Definitely makes it very interesting for me!
