Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski presented her autumn/winter 2021 collection for Hermès via a contemporary dance triptych set across Paris, New York, and Shanghai. Just as thrilling as the emotive performances choreographed by Madeline Hollander and Gu Jiani? Vanhée-Cybulski’s reimagining of Hermès’s impossibly luxurious handbags, a nod to our collective desire “to live again, to venture forth into the unknown, to gain a new lease of life”.

Among the most covetable items on the runway? Lariats designed for keeping your Hermès lipsticks close to hand – releasing your lip colour at the pull of a string. Worn under practical nylon coats and fringe-trimmed suede jackets, the tiny accessory is named the Kiss Holder, and is the ultimate symbol of the discrete luxury that Hermès has come to represent. Also of note: the introduction of The Hermèsway bag, made up of a number of compartments and pockets, and the key-chain lariat, for the diehard minimalists among us.

Those who prefer a more capacious tote, meanwhile, will be happy to see that Hermès’s prized Birkin bag returned to the catwalk, albeit reinvented as the “3-in-1” Birkin. The style was left open in a nod to the collection’s overarching mood of charging towards a fresh start. As the revised name suggests, it can be used as a standard Birkin, a tote bag or a clutch made up from the bag’s interior pochette.

I was delighted when I got a flower bouquet from our SM with an invitation to watch the fall-winter runway show . I was too exited that I didn't read the full massage and thought it was held up in the store itself and was ready to go there at 4:30 :lol: . I was taken away buy the beautiful lilies .

I thought the dance was creative but I was not interested in it , I liked the background more and the movement of the curtains, the quality of the live steam and the edit .

I loved so many looks , but I was more interested in accessories . I saw so many amazing and new pieces and was wishing for the camera man to focus on them . That got me thinking, if I were in a fashion show how can I take in so many details at once ! I want to see every thing ! and the model is running :biggrin:.

I liked the passenger bag with the lipstick holder / sanitizer holder as was missioned above . I want one now heheheh. But I don't think that the flap-less Birkin “3-in-1” Birkin will be a hit . I never close my Birkins but I love the idea of being able to . On the other hand I think this Birkin might be lighter than a regular Birkin .

Do any one know if they are going to make Birkin like flap clutch ? or is it just the “3-in-1” Birkin insert ?

Sorry to add a down note but I found the collection dull and the palette desperately dull. I appreciate the artistic and additional technical effort that lockdown has forced upon catwalk shows but the addition of the dance sections left me unmoved. I did quite like the chunky necklace with the leather piece going around the top of the shoulders/neck and dense chain at the front so it wasn't a total loss. It cropped up a number of times so it may hit the shops.

I'm finally allowing myself to pop in after writing my review. Looks like I got some of my interpretations right! I loved the clothes. I thought the NY Ballet Dancers could have been utilized better. The Shanghai section was fabulous.

Also thought it was interesting that some of the models wore the Hermes Apple Watch.
This looks like a flap-less-Birkin carrying a flat-case-birkin flap clutch in it...
