Superman actor Henry Cavill's £3.5million mansion
NEW Superman Henry Cavill has bought his own £3.5million Fortress of Solitude.
The British Man of Steel star is said to be “blown away” by the futuristic-looking mansion on the shore of Lake Sherwood, 20
miles from Hollywood.
Henry, 30, has been looking for a base near Tinseltown after spending the past 18 months living in an apartment on Los Angeles’
trendy Manhattan Beach.
His new, secluded four bedroom property, perhaps inspired by his screen character’s base, features floor-to-ceiling windows, a movie room, a boat dock, pool and guest quarters.
The Jersey-born
star decided to buy the house after agreeing with Warner Bros to appear as the superhero and his alter-ego Clark Kent in at least two and possibly five more movies.
He has also been cast as special agent Napoleon Solo in a new film version of the popular sixties
TV spy series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. after Tom Cruise, 51, pulled out.
A friend of Henry, who has been shown around the luxury
pad, said: “Now Henry has secured his long-term future here he’s been anxious to find a base that’s both secluded and within easy travelling distance of the studios. This place fits the bill perfectly.”
Henry, who is single, has been keen to “find space” away from his current cramped fl at, which draws the
paparazzi and fans who follow his every move.
He blames the pressures of living in what he
calls “my little fish tank” on his failed romances with actresses Gina Carano, 31, and Kaley Cuoco, 27.
Henry, who starred in hit series The Tudors before finding Hollywood fame, said recently: “Some days you feel there’s really no escape from being under the Hollywood microscope 24/7.
“I’m hoping to find a place that gives me the luxury of a little more peace and quiet than I’ve been used to of late.”
