Thank you! Also, did your flats squeak a lot when you started using them? I pinned down the location of the squeaks but I do not want to accidentally ruin the leather.

I have the Jorgaans in Eel. I never noticed a squeak.

Is it emanating from the uppers or the soles? Is it from your feet moving around?

what's your feeling with these loafers? i got a pair for myself this xmas and it was very hard, the leather is as soft as I thought it was, and was hard to put on (while it was the perfect size when already worn). also the inner sole seems odd too.

Mine are fine, but as I said earlier they're eel.

Are you comparing with drivers, because yes, those are very different.

Most shoes need a bit of 'breaking in' and the leather soles can be slips. But if you're not in love perhaps exchange them for something else ASAP (i.e. don't wear them around too much).

I sized down in mine per my SA recommendations. I was worried they would be too tight, but I wore them around the house a couple of hours at a time and they stretched beautifully. My all time favorite shoes

Just curious if you all added soles on the exterior bottom before wearing them? I asked when I bought them and they said not to, but I’ve always heard that adding soles helps preserve the longevity. I’ve only worn them a couple times so far.

Roaming the net for advise for narrow feet...But most posts are regarding sizing for wider feet. So mostly I'm a true EU 38, i.e. 24,3-7 cm and around 8,6 cm in width (I presume that's narrow to regular, in most cases). Can anyone help me decide on size for the Jordaan? Will 37,5 be OK or should I opt for 37? I've read that ppl with narrow feet often need to size down even a whole size.

What do you reckon?

Having the same question!

It's old school not to, the leather builds up a protective sheen as you wear them. Protecting the shoes is only one consideration. I put on rubber soles because I don't want to break my neck at work. There are some surfaces that either are just too slippery, or become lethal when the sole has become damp from the rain.

LOL can relate. Leather sole can be too slippery.

I have had my Jordaan loafers for over a year now. I have wide feet and I have to say, they haven’t stretch significantly. They’re still tight and hurt by the end of the day. I sized up too. I still like them but know they are narrow. I just don’t wear them as much as my other shoes due to comfort. After a year, I know they won’t stretch much more. The leather is stiff. I also put on protective soles from the cobbler as it rains a lot here in Seattle.

@ehy210 thank you so much for posting about this!

I have wide feet too and have been itching to purchase a pair of black Jordaans, but was extremely nervous about doing so because of my wide feet. Fortunately, they've been out of stock in my size everywhere up until a few weeks ago...when they popped back in stock, and so did Princetowns in two colors I've been wanting. I bought my Princetowns a little over a year ago and I am so in love with them -- they are the most comfortable shoes I own -- and I was so torn over whether to order the Jordaans or another pair of Princetowns. Ultimately I decided that with spring coming up I'd get more immediate use out of white Princetowns and punted on the loafers for now. Given what you've written here, I am SO glad I did!

Wide feet are so problematic for buying designer shoes! The vast majority of them just aren't accommodating of wide feet. I have spent more money than I care to think about on designer shoes that seem like they will work at the time of purchase, yet even after extended wear and having them stretched they aren't comfortable to wear for more than a short period of time...which means I rarely end up wearing them, and I feel so guilty about it. Your review helps me feel much more confident about choosing the white Princetowns, so thank you for that! :)
