Hi Ladies, my hubby treat me with a new ring for our 10 anniversary. My dream is a tiffany solitaire style with a big stone, but with our budget it's not possible to have The Big stone from Tiffany. My plan it was going to New York city for a weekend and see the ring at Tiffany and compare in diamond district and decide what to get. But I saw a previous post about the poor choice of diamond at Tiffany? Do you think I can have multiple stone to look at it or it's better make a appointment before? We live in Montreal and I know some good jeweler who want to do my ring but I think maybe I can get a better deal in New York. I really don't know what to do, the budget it's max 15k. Please fell free to give me your opinion or address of good jeweler in NYC. Thank you for helping!:smile1:

If you contact an SA at Tiffany's, they can bring rings in for you to look at. They typically will bring in about 4 rings to look at. Give them a call, and ask them what stones are available in your price range. If you are looking for a classic settings, they should have lots in their inventory to pull from. If you are looking to MAX your size out in the sacrifice of color etc, then have them bring the stones in for you.

Yes I checked online and I read a lot but it's not easy when you don't know that much about diamond. I saw a beautiful 1.5 ct canadian diamond at costco in my price range but is it a good place to buy this?

contact Brian Gavin Diamonds: they are in Houston but I believe have an office in NYC. James Allen Diamonds is in NYC near Wall street. Both carry ideal cut certified stones and you arent going to beat the prices for the quality anywhere. 47th street is a minefield.

AME: I was thinking about good old gold after I saw his video, do you have good experience with them? Do you have them making the setting for you has well? How much time it take by car from New York city?

I have been to the store and I have had several fantastic experiences with them. I had my stone put in a stock setting and ended up resetting it locally though I regret that choice, I should've just had GOG do that for me.

I didn't drive, I took LIRR, and it took about an hour each way by train. But their store is a brief (albeit potentially dangerous) walk from the train station, and they have cabs right there also.

Hi Girls I saw one I think it's good but I need your advice. It's a Candian Diamond 1.52 ct, H, VS2 , sym very good, GIA. The evaluation say the value of replacement it's 30 000$ and this diamond sell 12 999$. Is it good or not? Thank you for helping!
