I think teardrop is very elegant. But I feel really bad, because I also want the perfect necklace with a thoughtful meaning and I made her cry so much over the year. And I am afraid that every time I see her wearing the teardrop necklace, it will make me emotional.. Her initial is K.W. and those letters do not look very beautiful in the letter necklace collection. And although I like open heart, it seems like most everyone's first T&C piece is the open heart necklace.. :) Ha, so very hard..

I own the bean pendant and I love it. I think the open heart, while pretty, is almost too popular. The bean is simple and understated yet very beautiful. I love that it represents the origin of all things. It almost looks like a heart to me. I'm sure whatever you get her she will love it!

Oh noo.. I guess the Teardrop collection would not be a good choice then. Maybe you should stick with your initial selection - Bean or the Starfish pendant since you think the Open Heart is too common. All are adorable! What do you think of the Apple pendant? Or if you're not set on a necklace, Pearls by the yard bracelet is a pretty and feminine choice.

I just kinda asked her casually how she thinks of the teardrop necklace.. saying that my sister is thinking about getting the necklace as her graduation present and she said, it looks kinda sad.. haha. I guess, that says it all that teardrop is out! :)

Should I go classy, but unoriginal with the openheart or modern with risk of her thinking it's a tiny little blob with the bean?? It's a tough choice..

I don't like the heart one at all... I would not wear any jewelry with a heart on it, but I think that's a very personal thing so you probably know best with regards to that. I never even thought about the teardrop being sad. I actually get compliments on my clear teardrop necklace more than any other piece of jewelry I own.

I just found out about this necklace while surfing this forum. And it is very beautiful!! If anyone owns this necklace, could you please share your personal photo of wearing this necklace? I would just love to see this necklace on a person, as I am looking for the perfect necklace for my fiancee.

Thank you!!

I LOVE my open heart necklace, I have the medium size and I love it!! My husband bought me the oval small key for our anniversary and its wonderful! or What about buying a charm and having it engraved with something special?

I don't think a necklace gift is tacky at all. My first piece of Tiffany jewelry was a medium open heart necklace. I think it's cute and even though it's pretty common is still a great look (I think I got my pendant about 19 years ago?)... These days though I am loving the diamonds by the yard collection- I think the necklaces are super cute and good for layering. The aquamarine one is pretty and a good price, but don't know if it would be too delicate looking:

I also really like the keys collection. I layer my diamond by the yard necklace with a longer chain with a couple of keys on it. I had a mini mini starfish at one point but got rid of it since it just wasn't my style. I think all 3 that you are considering are really cute and you can't go wrong with any of them. I would probably pick heart, then bean, then starfish.

Frank Gehry designs are quite bold. The design is beautiful but surprising someone with it might be a little much. Unless she's shown interest in his designs or that particular piece, or you know she's eclectic and would love it, I would ask her opinion. If not, keep the receipt if you need to make a return. A $1000 gift card will definitely make an impression and it will come in a little blue box.
