HELP PLEASE! Brand new Chanel - is this normal wear and tear?

Ladies, I need your expertise! I bought my very first Chanel handbag about a month ago, a classic flap in the jumbo size in caviar with gold hardware and the hardware is already starting to show noticeable sign of use. Is that normal for a bag at that price point?

I'm hesitant to contact the store as I actually had the bag I initially got exchanged because I noticed a nasty scratch on the lock the day after I got it. I don't want them to think that it's me that's reckless with the bag or anything because I'm definitely not.

So my question is; is this normal after using the bag less than 10 times? 14247838_10210872888563039_731832538_o.jpg14233742_10210872888723043_149990764_o.jpg 14233828_10210872887363009_83924168_o.jpg

It's not normal wear and tear. Try and see if you can clean those spots with a soft cloth (like those that come with prescription glasses). If not, please take it back, it's definitely not normal, nor acceptable.

No.. That is not normal. Regardless you exchanged your first bag you paid a lot of money and want a bag that doesn't have flaws. The longer you wait to contact the store you may have trouble. Did you buy this at a department store or boutique?

I bought it at the Hamburg boutique. I'm from Denmark so it's a 4 hour long drive + communication is a bit hard since English isn't mine nor the SA's mother tongue. I understand that I will have to call them soon then.

Thanks for replying

I tried cleaning it but it didn't help whatsoever. I have now written an email to the SA informing her of the problem.

Oh this is not normal nor good. I'm so sorry you've had 2 defective handbags. I would work with my SA right away and return it for a new handbag ASAP. Good luck!

No, that is not normal at all. It looked like the metal parts has been oxidize, not scratch. I would not wait for SA response and bring it back ASAP.

That's what I'm thinking. What could have caused that?
If I could I would take it back straight away but unfortunately the nearest boutique to me is a four hour drive away and in a different country. I just got a reply from the store and they offered to get it repaired if I would send it to them. It does not seem right that I should pay for shipping and have to wait God knows how long before I get it back. I paid 4750€ for it and I'm so disappointed.

I would not accept a repair, quite honestly. It is a brand new bag and I would want a replacement. You should not have to pay for shipping - you should be able to return the bag you have, and have them ship you a brand new bag!

I will do my best to stand my ground and get a replacement. This is really not acceptable and I'm so disappointed!
