I LOVE THE FIRST ONE! How could that not be the perfect engagement ring for a non-traditional bride?

I just wanted to say thank you for such an amazing response. Who knew how many gorgeous rings were out there?! I personally want them all

After talking it over with my friend's boyfriend, we decided it would be safer and more practical to directly involve the bride to be. She was a tad disappointed about the lack of a surprise, but hehe, appreciated our concerns for finding the perfect ring. She and I just went through this thread, and she has a better idea of what she'd like. She's leaning to the custom ring route, but we'll see what happens!

As it would turn out, her version of non-traditional is a ring with anything other than a diamond. But at the same time, as a poster said in this thread about her friends, she wants a classic setting and cut, one that says "hello! this ring is an engagement ring".

It's good that you guys have come to a decision. Picking out an engagement ring is probably more fun than being surprised with it.
