Im 26 and got a Raymond Weil watch for my 21st. Its lovely. White gold, round face, goes with everything. Jeans or linen trousers for dressing down, but also dresses as ive worn it to a couple of weddings. It was £800 and i changed the battery last year. So I would recommend this brand. There are so many differnt styles and brands to chose from though I found it hard to decide! Let us know what you chose! :-)

TPF ladies are the best :yahoo:

couturequeen, thanks so much for taking the trouble to source some fab candidates and post pics. You are such a star! :hugs: In fact I have tried on and liked some of the ones you'd suggested - the Longines and Tissot in two-tone but I wondered if I was being too traditional and boring.

ETenebris, thanks also for all the info and links you posted for pre-owned Rolex. Much appreciated

Dixie79 I love the white watch, its really cute! For now though I would prefer something more versatile first since I won't have alternatives. Sigh... my dream white watch would be a diamond bezel J12 :cloud9: sigh... :back2topic:

Mary_Swe, jayjay77, thanks for your inputs. I think my mind is made up to buy something inexpensive (less than £1000) first and put the rest of my budget towards savings for a brand new Rolex next year :yahoo:

chessmont & Lanbanan thanks ladies. So you both think I should go for the Raymond Weil as my waiting watch. I have a two tone BZero1 ring which I wear a lot that goes very well with this watch.... guess I'll go try it on again and see

Will keep you posted ;)

UPDATE!!!!

So I have taken all your advice here (thanks again) and have been giving the whole watch thing a good think. In the end I think I'm leaning towards a gent's style watch = ROLEX! (I now get what you meant by "sporty" couturequeen :shame:)

I explored used watches and grey dealers (thanks ETenebris) and was thiiiiiis close to raiding the savings and just going for the Rolex right now. FYI A steel+gold ladies yachtmaster!!! :yahoo: ..... However, I lost my nerve when I tried it on and the SA actually recommended I go for the more feminine Cartier Roadster instead... perhaps its my dressing style that made him say that :shrugs:

So I realise I am a complete newbie to watches and not ready to make such a pricey purchase until I am sure what I want... perhaps the whole man-watch love thing will fade.

So Rolex will have to wait till next year and in the mean time I will still get a two-tone Raymond Weil Tango for evening or dressier affairs and will try out the man-watch thing with the black dial Tissot PRS 200. Its super gorgey and will satisfy my crush for now (Thanks for suggesting it Dixie79!

Watch out for pics soon

The yachtmaster is my fav Rolex ... to die for. Don't let anyone tell you to go for something more feminine if you love it! Shop elsewhere.

Glad you are having fun with your search. I'm looking forward to wrist candy pics!

Thanks couturequeen :hugs:

Louise thanks. Ooo I like the aquaracer! Its quite handsome.

He's not fancy but here he is anyway :p
