I want to buy a new bag and I've been eyeing the Twist MM in black & gold but not sure if that is the one, so I went to store to check it out with my mum.

I liked the classic black & gold, its classy, easy to match, you can dress it up/down depending on how you want to wear it. But my mum thinks that I should venture out to different colours & buy a special piece rather than a practical day-to-day one, so she asked the SA if there are any other colours available. I also liked the Gold Miel but they were out of stock, so the SA took out the pink Rose Trianon instead and I have to admit, it is very pretty, the flower chain makes it more special & I can see myself wearing it up/down just like the black twist, but I kinda still liked the black at that point because, who doesn't like the classic black & gold?

While I was umming and ahing which one to get, the SA took out another bag for me - Capucines BB, in Pearly Pink.

It wasn't love in first sight, but when I try it on - OMG it is SO. PRETTY!

I really love it and it makes my heart sing just thinking about it. But, the price difference between a Twist & a Capucines BB is quite significant. Price is of course a factor but what I worried most about buying the Capucines is:

1) The leather, from what I've seen, doesn't hold the shape well over time. I know the bottom corner can sag a bit and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. Looking at second hand market the used capucines with a soft corner doesn't appeal to me. Maybe it'll be different if I'm the one using it brand new until the shape changed?? Kinda like your own patina in canvas? I don't know.

2. The pearly pink, it is SO pretty! It is to die for! But I'm worried that the pearly affect along with the colour being pink, will have colour transfer and also hard to maintain. Imagine if I wear dark colour clothes/jeans, and there's colour transfer, what's the chance I can rub it off without damaging the pearly shine? Even if I were to take the bag for a bag spa treatment, will they be able to recreate the same pearly effect?

I guess right now I'm choosing between:

Twist black & gold, Twist pink Rose Trianon, Capucines BB in pearly pink

But I'm also wondering about the Twist in Gold Miel & Rose Blossom (with rose gold hardware), and the Twist One Handle PM in Caramel (which I have not seen/tried it on yet).

The Gold Miel & One Handle in Caramel is OOS in-store but I can buy it online, just means that if I don't like it there's the hassle of returning it. I've also never tried returning/swapping bags before, is it difficult?

Which one do you think I should get? Is there anyone out there who have the capucines in pearly colours? I see it is also available in wallets! I would love to hear your thoughts on wear & tear plus maintenance of the leather! Thanks in advance :heart::heart:

I think the pink capucines suits your frame the best. The pink is also neutral enough to be versatile enough to match various outfits. I feel the twist is a more serious bag maybe a tad big? Or maybe it is just the angle of the photo.
As far as sagging goes, LV seemed to have fixed those issues in recent years. Plus, yours is a bb so the smaller bags don’t have as much weight than the larger MM which sagged more in earlier versions (2013-2016ish).
it sounds like your heart wants the capucines. Get that one. You only live once. No bag lasts forever. Although, taurillon is very hard wearing. You have many more years in front of you to be practical and serious. Besides, the twist is not going anywhere. Good luck!

Definitely the Capucines. I think it's gorgeous. I'm not a fan of the Twist bags to begin with, but the Capucines is my favorite. I love that you can go from using it as a shoulder bag, to just using it with the handle. It makes it so versatile and fun. But with the Twist, you have to use it as a shoulder bag. Two completely different looks. I think the Capucines looks great on you.

I have neither of these bags, so can't say anything about use or wear and tear.

Agree with @TomMi39 that both bags look a little big on your frame. Of course, if you don't mind or prefer a bigger bag then that doesn't matter.

Regarding the color, I think pink looks very good on you!

Something I have heard about the Twist bags is that some people have found them annoying to open and close.
The flap is pulled up slightly when one is carrying it. So that when you need to open or close the bag, you actually need to pull the flap down a little lower so that the twist mechanism matches the cutout and is able to lock and unlock appropriately.
That personally would bother me but it may or may not be of concern to you.

I do love the look of a Capucine. I think it looks more elevated and elegant. While I find the twist to be more casual.
(Thought if I got a Capucine, I'd probably carry it top handle only.)
I am not found, however, of the price depreciation of the Capucine. :-s And personally I would rather buy pre-loved that brand new.

Just some of my thoughts though. Good luck and happy shopping!

Thank you so much for all your replies ladies! I still haven't decided yet.

In my heart I'm leaning towards Capucines, but my main concern is that it won't be easy to clean or repair if needs to. I have emailed a couple of bag spa/leather expert for advice on whether or not this leather can be repaired/restored, and one of them have said that this type of finish is hard to work with and belongs to one of the more difficult category. He is highly trusted in US and if that's what he is saying, I don't think the Australian bag spa will do better than him but let's see what their responses are.

I would go for the twist - if you use the strap on the capucines it’s very likely it will rub and gouge marks into the leather on the inside where the clip is that’s what happened to my almost $10 000 capucines . I will never buy another capucines.
I am so sorry to hear that slayer, $10k is a lot of money for a bag (or anything in fact) and I would be very upset too if I were you. Do you mind (if you still have the bag) share some photos on the gouge marks? It will help me decide on whether to take on the risk of purchasing the capucine..
