Help! My first luxury jewelry item! Cartier/Tiffany/VCA??

Casting another vote for the VCA vintage. Had the cartier legere in a 0.2ct and a VCA sweet (turquoise butterfly in wg). Even layered them, but ended up selling them. Alone they seemed to "disappear" into outfits. Liked the impact of wearing them together, but couldn't handle the constant tangling. Since the MOP is on the neck, as long as you remove for water based activities and wear it solo, shouldn't be getting as much wear and tear as, say, a ring.
From a budget standpoint, have you looked at a secondhand as an option? Might get you the piece faster than full price? Could always take it to the boutique for a sprucing up. Just a thought!

Thank you for your input! This is also part of my consideration. I think the DLDC necklace will be too small for me as I am quite tall. I also like the C de Cartier so much better, so I will definitely get this necklace some day. Yes the vintage MOP alhambra is definitely on my must-have list! But not as a graduation gift as its over my budget for now (but I will get it soon enough ). Now I am thinking of getting either the DLDC bracelet in S, DLDC earrings in XS (for the second earlobe piercing) or the love wedding band... I think I will get one of this three - any recommendations?

As for the pre-loved market, I am constantly checking that But there is not much on the market and too overpriced (for second hand).

Don't have pierced ears but have eyed getting the DLDC earrings for my best friend before. Do like the modern stepped bezel in the DLDC line. The love ring is super classic too. I'd vote for one of those on your new list

I vote for the ring bc you can look down and admire it! Also IMO, it’s a piece that can stand the test of time! Happy shopping!

I got a love wedding band last year for our 5 year wedding / 10 years together anniversary. I love mine and wear it everyday! I vote for the ring for sure. I want a JUC ring or bracelet next as I think those are a great symbol of hard work for a big milestone.

Have you seen all these items on you? During lockdown I had soo many items on my wish list but when the shops opened and I got to see them in real life, they looked different to the images, and also the pieces by themselves looked different to when they were on me.

I think you’ll be able to narrow down your list once you look at them all!

I have the large large Cartier Diamants de Leger necklace in YG and I wear it every single day and I get so many compliments on it. It's noticeably bigger than the size that is one step down, and I'm glad I got the larger one, even if it's a splurge. It's not too flashy, so it feels appropriate to wear every day. But it's also worth looking into options at The Real Real for previously loved jewelry.

I actually did (kinda)! I haven't purchased anything yet (still preparing for the last exams) but I have already ordered a Cartier single JUC earring to wear as a helix piercing. However, I have to wait until it arrives (I ordered it a month ago and am still waiting...) and then try it on to see how it fits. Apart from this, I plan to purchase a DBTY necklace from Tiffany's (prob. around .17 carat, havent see it in person) and/or the small trinity earrings.

I ultimately decided to drop the idea of getting a DLDC necklace. Still like the bracelet, but I think I will benefit form a necklace and/or earrings more (lower cost per wear) since I'll be wearing them every day also I think both pieces are enough delicate and classic for the office, which is very important for my decision. Still like the love ring/love wedding band, but I am not sure how fitting it is for the office (I dont want to be "show-offing").

If anyone is interested, I will post pictures of my purchase ) will take some time though (july/august probably)

Congrats! I do think the juc looks really nice as helix. I have the love wedding band and don’t think it looks too flashy for an office but I do think a necklace and/or earrings would be a good choice as well. I tried the Tiffany DBTY in the 0.17ct 2 weeks ago and it is a good size for daily wear and for layering but ultimately decided in the Cartier DLDC in the 0.9 ct for what I was going for.

Whatever you decide I think all of your options were good for a 1st luxury piece. Definitely post pictures of your final purchase(s). Congrats again!!

The DBTY was nice but the diamond kept flipping up even as I was trying it on so I knew that would drive me insane. It also looks like other bezel necklaces I have seen while there was just something special about the Cartier. Even though it was more expensive and the diamond was smaller than the ones I tried at Tiffany it just seemed to pop more for me. I also love that the bezel is so unique and the chain was shinier plus the cute little Cartier symbol on the clasp. I did end up purchasing a plain rose gold chain from Tiffany but that’s because I had a pendant I already wanted to use so their chains are lovely as well and cheaper for just a plain chain.

Hey guys! I wanted to thank you all again for your help and advices! I am providing a photo of my first luxury jewelry item – the Cartier JUC single earring which I am wearing on the helix piercing. I love how it looks and I definitely think that this is a piece which I can wear for a long time. Next goals are getting a DBTY necklace from Tiffanys and a pair of trinity or DLDC earrings from Cartier! Thank you all so much!
