So after talking with DH, we decided on me getting a sapphire anniversary band for our 1 year anniversary. I am so excited!

The difficult part is that my ring is a custom ring and I'm not sure how to wear the band with the ring.

Here's my ring, btw. It is a 2 band crossover ring. I am attaching potential styles of the anniversary band that I am thinking of. Also attached the DY bridal set which is a similar style ring with separate band. Also maybe do sapphires in the middle?

Here are my questions for you all:

1) Should I do all sapphires? Or sapphires and diamonds?

2) Should the anniversary band sit flush to my ring or should there be a gap?

:shrugs:

Your crossover ring is really pretty!! I love both anniversary bands. The diamond/sapphire version is more modern/ new classic. But I think the sapphire only band might match better. Do you have a chance to try similar bands. That's the best way to see what band might work best with your gorgeous diamond crossover ring.

I like 'gaps' and I think it will be nice in combination with your ring!

Have fun choosing your ideal ring!

Thanks Monica! Yeah I will have the chance to try them both. I am kinda leaning towards all sapphires in the small pave stone very similar to the style of my current ring. At first I was opposed to having a gap but I guess I need to see it on.

:yahoo: So exciting! Don't forget to make some pics Vanbruntsa!

I think the sapphire/diamond combo band is a good fit for your ring. If it was all blue sapphire, then it's really set off from the ring unless that's what you like. I think the combo gems is more a matched set.

I have a smaller 3-stone sapphire/diamond ring, more a mommy ring, I love the 3-stone look with these gems.

I like both of the modeling pics, but I prefer the first with the gap. I like a "collected over time" look...especially with wedding sets. I would choose the diamond/sapphire band, but I am wild about that style (round & square with milgraining) so I might be biased!

you really can't go wrong with any of the styles that you're considering.

Thank you for the input. After talking to DH, he does not want to add to my ring but rather just get me a band to either wear alone on my left hand or on my right hand or below my wedding ring with a gap. Problem is I am going to just have to try on a bunch and see which one works.

I totally agree with everyone about doing diamond and sapphire mixed and not just all sapphire. So, now it is just finding a style of ring that meshes well...:graucho:

I attached some more styles that peaked my interest.

I am really leaning towards the last one which is the Blue Sapphire and Diamond Shared Prong Eternity Band.

Please let me know what you all think :smile1:

they're very pretty, & I like the shared prong version above too. but if you're going to wear it alone or on your right hand, do you want something with more presence? I think I might. I have some ideas...

I like something like this with alternating sapphires/diamonds: http://www.earringsmart.com/images/diamond/big/14k_white_gold_three_sided_c.jpg

or, if you prefer something with cleaner lines, maybe this with the bigger stones being sapphires...could be 20 pointers: http://www.1800loosediamonds.com/me...6319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/w/b/wb17929.jpg

or maybe this: http://www.divadiamonds.net/images/inventory/Q4177.jpg

just some thoughts...

FF: If I get a band to wear alone (that is never wearing it with/under my wedding ring) then I will go with something far more substantial and something like what you posted above. I really don't need a right hand ring bc I already have some beautiful ones. I really want to make a band work under my current wedding ring.

of the rings that you posted here, I completely agree with your favorite...the shared prong eternity. IMO it would look best with your crossover e-ring. I like it worn like the black & white pic of the model in your original post...although wearing it underneath your ring (like the last pic) is pretty too. I prefer wearing it next to your original ring because I like the gap (as I've said).

might you be able to get some matching hoop sapphire/diamond earrings too...if you're a very good girl? :graucho: hehe
