If you have the budget for two bags, then the Belt Bag, Antigona or Alma would work well with a black Gucci Soho bag alternative for when you want something smaller that could be worn crossbody.

Good choice! The Alma Epi leather (indigo) and the Celine belt bag (navy blue) is also on my wishlist. To the OP, do consider them too if you have the budget!

I've had them for quite awhile now except for the Prada Galleria which I just got it a month ago pre-loved (first time buying pre-loved because I wanted it in Baltico). Luckily I am attracted to and tend to only go for classic designs and colors, so I don't find any of my collections "dated" nor are they considered to be dated designs (if that makes sense?). And I still love them every much with the exception for: -

-LV Neverfull MM in DE: My first luxury bag but it was an impulse buy. Though I do come to gradually like it as it was roomy and a good shape to use for work (carrying documents).
-Prada Tessuto Nylon Gaufre Tote in black: Impulse buy. Heavy and saggy.
-Givenchy Antigona small in smooth grey: Impulse buy. This is too similar to the LV Speedy 30 and like I mentioned earlier, it is very structured. Because of that I find it bulky, especially when I go for afterwork drinks.

Perhaps you might want to consider the Proenza Schouler PS1 in medium (this bag is on my wishlist)? I find it to be a classic and with a relaxed look to it (not the PS1+ though) and comes with a long strap so its good for traveling.
Thanks so much for all your advice! I also only want classic bags too and want to have 3 or 4 max for every occasion as I have some nice cheaper and not so well known 'middle of the road' bags. All your reviews are really helpful and I have a list of what I am going to consider. I don't want anything that will date in a couple of years. I do like PS1 too and will put it on my list to go see in the shop.

Thanks all so much for your suggestions. I have a short list:

I will check out:
PS1
Prada Galeria
Celine belt
Saint Laurent sac de jour
Mulberry small or mini zipped Bayswater - I do like the look of it. I sold my original Bayswater as it was too heavy!
LV Alma
YSL WOC
Gucci Soho

I did end up buying medium Lily, Mulberry today which is a bit of an impulse buy but I think it fits in a category of classic bags. I really hope not to regret like so many bags I got in the past!

You already own a very classic bag, but you might want to check out a leather coach bag, they seem to look classic too and nowhere as costly as a Chanel flap, which is the most classic imo. I do not own any Coach but if price were a concern , I’d buy one.
I have some Coach from their recent 1941 line and can confirm that many are very high quality. The Rogue is a gorgeous leather with a beautiful suede lining. The Chalk in particular is one of my prettier bags.

I really love my Nano Belt bag and I think you can never go wrong with their Luggage bags either, no matter the size.

As long as you buy from a trustworthy company I don't think there is anything to worry about. Vestiaire Collective, Fashionphile etc. have great return policies, if the item isn't in the condition that it was stated in, they will take it back. I bought with VC quite often now and I never had a problem with authenticity. They all pre-authenticate the items for you but I usually get the items double authenticated and never had a problem.

Especially the Luggage style can be found at great prices second hand.
VC does have their share of fakes.

Coach Cassie. Beautiful silhouette that you can wear forever. Starts at $350 and there are more expensive versions.
It's more of a "contemporary" designer, but many women have purchased this bag. They are are drawn to its similarity to the LV Pochette Metis.

Think about this: when I fist started collecting LV, the PA was about $200.
I also like Mansur Gavriel. Very minimalist and classic.

I bought quite a few things from VC already and can only say good things. I always got my things double authenticated later on and they were always authentic. Of course things can always slip through but I personally only had a good experience
Fair statement, I help authenticate on the Bal site and we've seen fakes from VC. My point would be, I guess, to do as you did and have items authenticated independently of whatever site you're planning to purchase from.

I’d recommend a preloved Balenciaga bag if budget is a concern and if you like the aesthetic. I love their City bag and for whatever reason, they’re really discounted on the second hand market. Best part is - there are so many amazing colors to choose from!
