How about the Rolex "Air King" model? He won't think it's too ostentatious because it is more simple than the other ones. The price is around $3,000 for a new one. I hope that helps! If not, maybe get him a more simple Breitling watch; price point is good and it's a very substantial, sporty, yet elegant brand in general

Good luck!

List for the Air King is $4200 maybe if you don't mind gray market dealers you can get one for around $3700-$3800.

For your price range I would defintely look into Omega, especially for Men. They have some nice Seamaster (ie. James Bond Edt) or Speedmaster series. Try visiting the Omega website w/ your DH as a way to test his taste on which style he prefers.

Oh, I think I gave the wrong impression - he doeesn't necessarily want the Rolex, I'm just conjecturing (because he will have heard of it! LOL). He's never really mentioned it.

I also worry a little that a Rolex would be too ostentatious? And he might like a brand that's a little more have-to-be-in-the-know.

Thanks for all the suggestions, btw! Very helpful!

there are alot of rolexes that are not ostentatious at all! esp the ones that are the entry level ones. they have quite a few sporty styles i really like such as the submariner, or gmt master. i think those are around 6K canadian though, i'm sure its cheaper in the states. but even their very basic styles like the date, date just are very nice. in the end, rolex is a classic, will hold its value more than any other brand so you can't go wrong. if it really is out of your budget, i would suggest omega as well. if you are planning to buy a watch that is meant to be a classic, i think its best to stick to brands such as rolex, cartier or omega.

i just bought my bf the cartier santos 100 (around 4K) and he loves it! me too! but again, this will depends on your dh's style, if he'd prefer a more modern watch vs. traditional classic style. please tell us what you decide!

Resurrecting this old thread, but just wanted to thank everyone for your input! I ended up coughing up a little extra and getting him a Rolex Datejust (SS, smooth bezel), and I'm thrilled! I just gave it to him and he LOVES it. The Rolex was the right choice for sure!!!

i think that coughing up a little more money was a wonderful thing you did, you are such a wonderful wife that wants the best for your DH to celebrate your 10th anniversary. Happy 10 years!! and more to come:flowers:

glad he LOVES it :-)
