Our 10th anniversary is coming up and I'd like to get him a nice watch!

Any suggestions? Price range is $2-3k. Is that not enough for the premium watches (Rolex, Cartier)?

THANKS!!!

I like Tag Heuer; the crystal is thick and their watches are waterproof. These watches can be dropped... and will remain undamaged; Tag have beautiful manly models that can be used every day without fear.

Between Rolex or Cartier; I would pick a Cartier--I much prefer their looks. When choosing a watch above 1K you can be certain that it will last a long time and the movement is topnotch.

So, a new, sort of "entry level" Rolex is $4-5k, is that right?

I actually love the Baume and Mercier watches, but I suspect that DH would prefer a Rolex. I'll have to look more at Tags.

I don't think I can go pre-owned since it's a gift. :-)

Oh, I think I gave the wrong impression - he doeesn't necessarily want the Rolex, I'm just conjecturing (because he will have heard of it! LOL). He's never really mentioned it.

I also worry a little that a Rolex would be too ostentatious? And he might like a brand that's a little more have-to-be-in-the-know.

Thanks for all the suggestions, btw! Very helpful!

My DH fell in love with a Longines watch on a recent trip. He just couldnt leave without it now its all about the watch. He really needed a new wedding band but he purchased a watch instead. It was in the 2K range.
