Hi all

I had posted previously, soliciting bag recommendations. To recap, I wanted a long lasting, light (in weight) go-with-everything bag that would transition from day to night and was not a tote. Nothing that needed babying. Thanks to this forums helpful comments/tips, here are the contenders. Please do let me know what you think, and which one looks the best. Also I would buy the bag in either black or red (one of the bags in the photos is a dusky pink color - I would buy the black version of it)

Thanks
FS

The Louis Vuitton epi alma in noir (first photo) is definitely a bag you don't need to baby. And it transitions well from day to night.

BUT the size you modelled is much too big for you, I think! Have you considered a smaller size?
That is the PM size I tried on. The BB size is too compact for me - though I do think it suits me better (and the price point is MUCH more to my liking :))

That's PM? Woah!

I have a BB and it fits more than it looks but it's definitely small.. Why don't you try on the BB while putting your daily essentials inside?

There are other bags that are epi leather in Louis Vuitton that may suit your needs if you need more space than an alma bb

LOL! I think it's the side profile which is making the bag look really large. Also, I am short. Nevertheless that is the way I would carry it (I am not a handheld bag kind of person). I did try my things in the BB - it was somewhat of a squeeze, mostly because I carry my eyeglasses with me and the eyeglass case takes up space.

Which other Epi bag would you recommend? The Soufflot looked large on me

Sorry for the late reply. I had to work. Anyway here are my suggestions.

Cluny BB

Bang for buck, this is a very popular bag. Classic shape and holds a lot. I don't have this because I have a Pochette Metis (similar). If I owned this bag, I would tie a twilly on the top handle.

And Petit Noe

I personally love the petit noe. Something about it is just magic. I have the multicolore noir one and it's really one of my most favorite bags. I can imagine how classy it will look in black or red epi leather! This is a small looking bag but it holds a LOT. I always bring my sunglasses around (with its hard case), and this bag can hold it and a ton more, no problem. I highly recommend this.

Continued from above. Here are modeling shots of the epi Cluny bb and the epi petit Noe. I got these from the Internet. They are not my photos (I am obviously not Reese Witherspoon haha):

If the 4 you've narrowed it to, I like the Alma & Speedy.

I am a fan of Louis Vuitton so I may be biased but - pic #3 looks very business to me & I'm not a fan of the large metallic logo on any bag. It's one of those come & go trends... I don't like the long chain strap on bag #4 and again, large metallic logo which I don't even like on LV. I think the Alma & Speedy are forever timeless & always in style without being trendy.

Is the Petite Noe secure? I have a "thing" about someone reaching into my bag and taking out stuff (gasp!). I tried the Cluny BB - it was too long on me and there was no way to shorten the straps)

All other recs are welcome :) I want something that will be timeless (don't we all :))

The second red one is the only choice I like on you, the others look oversized.

I think if you want a large capacity bag, a tote would look a bit better, these are styles that look better in small/medium sizes.

There are chic leather totes, like the Ysl sac du jour, LV cluny, and givenchy antigona. Totes don't have to look like a floppy rectangular day bag, they can look more dressy [emoji28]
