Help me find this Tiffany chain

As much as I love Tiffany's I don't love their high mark up. I have been in love with this chain ever since the Keys collection came out and have wanted it for a gold pendant that I have for a while (I also want this key....but that's beside the point). Tiffany's sells this for $200 for a 16 inch. Helen Ficalora sells one that looks exactly the same for $200 for an 18 inch. Should I just bite the bullet and get it from one of them or do you know of a more affordable alternative?

I bought this chain in silver and its so delicate and pretty, I say just do it! it may be more expensive but if you can afford it, your paying for the convenience of not having to hunt for a replica.

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I also have been in love with this chain since the Keys collection came out. Does anyone have a key on this chain in 18"? I was thinking that this type of chain would only look good longer, but now I'm reconsidering and thinking of getting this chain in 18" with the small oval key.

I'd just get the Tiffanys one, you are paying for the reassurance that they have excellent customer service, just in case you ever snap it or need cleaning for it ! :yes:

If I get it I am going to get it in an 18" length. I actually was watching Gossip Girl (yes....I love that show) today and saw Blair Waldorf wearing this chain with what I think is a 1" key. Here's a picture I found. I love her style. It's actually what prompted me to finally post about the chain (and key which I will get someday).

I probably will end up going with Tiffany's. I really can't find another one anywhere else. I just figured someone on here would. The thing about what you said that's funny is that lately I've been reading so many posts about T&Co customer service going downhill that I've started to doubt the reputation. I'm glad you guys all think it would be worth it though!

I'm so glad you posted this picture! I was just watching Gossip Girl and I noticed the necklace and thought the proportions are perfect. Is anyone able to identify the exact key this is? If it has diamonds I won't be able to afford it, but I want to know exactly how many inches it is, so I can buy something similar.

I'm answering my own question :)

From what I can find, it appears that the key Blair is wearing is the white gold crown key ($1500) and is 1.5". I'm sad there is no silver version that is 1.5"!! There is 1.0",
1.25", 2.0", 2.25", and 2.5"...everything but the 1.5! I guess the 1.25" would look the closest? But it isn't the crown key...that one is silver is huge (2.5").

Actually I was wrong about the crown key. I think it is the platinum and diamonds fleur de lis key. It comes in 1" and 1.5"...pretty sure this is the latter? Unfortunately very expensive!

I have the 32" in silver and love it. I've broken two Tiffany chains and they fixed both of them for free. I think that speaks volumes and makes it worth the mark up.

Well that's nice to hear. I honestly have never had a bad experience with Tiffany's (service or otherwise) but I have read posts about Tiffany's asking the customer to pay for repairs like that. I'll bet it helps to have a good relationship with a SA (which I do). In your experience does your 32" chain have issues with the links bending out of shape? I realize we're talking about different metals here (silver vs gold) but that's my main concern with this chain.
