It's a pattern sought after for its sealife details.....so you can appreciate the detail, here are three pics I posted here a while ago featuring my red Rencontre (really a dark orange) as a backdrop for my c d'a bracelet.....I can post pics of my other ROs if anyone wishes.

this puppy is soooo long gone from any boutiques. (It *may* be hiding in a back room in a tiny tropical H outpost, but I doubt even that.) There was a "run" on them by collectors on the secondary market several years ago, they became SO hot that the final price of the Rencontre Oceane c/ws got up to the thousands mark....no kidding! And if you are willing to pay an outrageous amount, even now they are available from collectors.

People dream of a reissue....I know it will happen one day. If you want one of the original c/ws, you have to be verrrry patient and be ready to pay. But it will come to you if you keep after it, that much I know! (Having been in your spot and done it myself...)

Here are the original elusive 12 colorways

1. red (dark vermillion orange-red)
2. fuchsia
3. lavender
4. green (bright vert anis)
5. black
There are 4 blues
6. sky blue (has a purple contrast hem, if I recall correctly)
7. turquoise
8. cobalt
9. aqua (very pale)
There are 3 similar "oranges"
10. peach (coral, salmon-y)
11. orange (yellow, gold-y)
12. apricot (also verrry pale)

Good luck LittleH! I will keep my eyes and ears open for you.

#6- the contrasting hem is navy.
#4- a granny apple green with a carrot contrasting hem.

I am one of those collectors who has every cw of the twill and the GM mous. It was a no-brainer when they issued in 2001 that I had to have them all (I am a bio major!)- the detail is incredible. This is a dearly beloved design amongst collectors and most SDs have been pestered to death about reissuing it over the years. I would say there is zero chance of finding one in a boutique although I once found a cobalt in a duty free at JFK so miracles can happen.

BTW, KOP will be offering 3 cws of the GM mous RO for the grand opening of their new store- they should be available in April I am told. But all have been spoken for at this time- not sure if the waitlist is still open.

Between cracking down on returns (and not accepting scarves more than a season old as a return) and having the sales, H doesn't have any more old gems lying around any more...so sad...

But there are tons of collectors who often sell off old ones to buy new ones and the like - sometimes on eBay, sometimes privately.

Do you want to say which you are searching for and maybe we can keep alert or give you some leads?

Thanks! I won't even pester them with mine, then. I'll just keep searching eBay and hoping for a reissue.

Thanks again.

Katel, do you have several ROs? I recall when they were first issued and I couldn't decide between fuchsia (my usual fave) and black (another fave) and I ended up with neither...fortunately I haven't had the crazy RO fever that makes some pay three times retail for one. At least not yet! I didn't even move quickly enough to get on the list for the GM mousselines coming soon to KOP. I love looking at them though! Hope you will share more!!

I have the red, fuchsia, lavender, black, sky blue (mine has a dark purple contrast hem, if I recall correctly, that matches its inner border....some may call it blue, I suppose...), and a finesse in violine (all twills) and a cute little fuchsia twilly. I stopped there because the rest of the cw/s didn't work for me (except maybe the aqua....it might work) ...will post some pics later for you, Luvbolide.

I was very fortunate to score one of the black RO GM mousses that KOP ordered for their reopening...I think the first two rounds are spoken for, but you never know...they may order a third round....it's worth phoning over to ask if you like the big moussies...

matt-g, what cw are you wanting? we will watch for you...

Hi Katel,

I was actually looking for a scarf called "Azulejos". I've been reading threads about quests for scarves to try and figure out how often designs get reissued and how old a scarf you might be able to find in a store.

It's just one of many H items that I was perfectly happy without until I learned of its existence, after which, I realized I must have it! :smile1:

I did see a large collection of scarf pix on another site, and of course I forgot to bookmark it and now I cannot find it again. That site indicated the scarf I'm looking for came out in the early 90s and was reissued a few years later. I'd love to get the pale blue version as a gift for the mother of a really good friend I have in Portugal, as they let me stay at their place for weeks at a time. When I saw "Azulejos" I thought it'd make the perfect gift, as the pattern is based on the tiles in Queluz palace, which we've all gone to together.

Thanks for thinking of me, though! :smile1:

That does come up on ebay from time to time....sometimes NIB, and I agree, its very pretty!

Hey, Matt, I loooove Azulejos. I have it in pink but just saw 2 on eBay - one in blues but dark blues as I recall and one kind of seafoam green. At least I think so, it was a bit hard to tell from the pic. They do come up with some frequency on eBay, so keep an eye out. don't despair! It is so kind of you to think of that for your friend's mom - and all the more special with that personal connection to the Queluz palace.

I'd love to see the photos of your RO collection, Katel, they sound gorgeous. I'd forgotten about the twillys and ironically that is the one RO that I have. Some very nice eBay seller had an RO up for auction but didn't know the name so I wrote and told her and then thought nothing else about it. A couple of weeks later she asked for my address and then in the mail came a black RO twilly. I was just floored, she was so pleased with the price she got for the scarf and thought she would send me the twilly as a gift. Talk about your RAOK!
